PPC or Pay per Click marketing can definitely you apart from the typical pack. Well, from an advertiser's perspective. It is one of the best ways of getting targeted traffic. Why? For one thing, you are investing in finding the best ways to get traffic back to your webpage. Google Adwords is a good way of doing this because you'll use one of the most popular search engines. You'll find that if you pay for certain ads at a price, better ranked sites will hold ads for you to enable more of a click through rate. When you have a higher and more concentrated click through rate, they are more liable to not only visit your site, but become a customer. That's the type of targeted traffic you want! Although, there is money that you have to invest in PPC, it is very effective when you are trying to increase your visitors to get more impressions; more clicks, and of course, more buys from your product! The great thing about PPC is you only pay when someone clicks through the ad. This is a great way to find out what products you have really touch the people. It saves you a lot of time and effort into trying things that otherwise would not work. On the other side of the spectrum, PPC can actually make you money on the publishing end. Google Ad sense, and other programs that feature PPC, actually pay you per click through rate. Now, if your site gets a lot of traffic (let's say for starters 500 unique visitors a month), you have a great opportunity to really monetize your blog with little work. This is especially the case when you have a site that indexes blogs and keywords really well. For a blog to have a good number of visitors, targeted keywords with affiliates and ad sense or PPC ads, you'll have a lot more to offer to potential advertisers. With Google Ad sense, you can target certain ads on your side. Whether the ad sense is a text, image, or link or the position (above the post, below the post, within the text, and on the sidebar), you'll be able to get more bang for your buck. This means, if you have a targeted ad, and you get a few clicks based off that, you'll end up making a few dollars! When you have a site that targets keywords, great content that people actually read and find value, it makes things a lot easier for monetizing! Now, here is the really crucial part. You have to test your skills to find out which ones work best for you. Obviously, when you first start off, you might not have that much success. Why? Maybe your particular niche doesn't really get the targeted traffic you desire. Maybe your particular content isn't really good enough to keep the visitors attention. So maybe develop a few sites that you know is good for not only searches, but it doesn't really get too much competition. Set yourself a budget to see the successful click through rates turned sales to see if the particular niche is worth continuing. It takes time to develop a successful PPC campaign. However, if you are really adamant and continue to try new things, you'll be more successful. Even on the publishing side, it might be hard to get those first few clicks to make money. However, once you find the real hot topics on your site, try to put more focus around those posts. This will make your blog more valuable in the long run. Not only from the perspective of building your base of readers, but long term money as far as clicks and buys.
