I am of the point of view that a life without meaning is not much of a life at all.

In my coaching practice, I have worked with people on the brink of “losing it” and wanting to give up on various levels---from quitting a job that could not bear, to wrestling with understanding the challenges of their life, to feeling like they would be better off leaving the earth plane---- all because of the same existential crisis of meaning.

Afterall, if you cannot find meaning in your life, what point is there for living?

A very successful personal empowerment teacher admitted that they too had considered suicide as a way of ending the pain of having no meaning in life. Thankfully, this person was able to turn her angst around into a profitable business, and now helps others turn their pain into purpose.

Another of my colleagues says that “even with all the money, sex, and power, an unexamined life still sucks.” Wow, times are changing and values are certainly shifting. We are beginning to realize that material pursuits alone will NOT bring us the satisfaction that we long for in our souls.

It takes something much more, in fact, it takes becoming someone more to find the meaning that makes life worth living.

Believe it or not, everything in your life serves a higher purpose, especially the tears and trials. If you don't believe me, take my current client Soyini. She was shot by an ex-boyfriend and lost use of her eye, and yes, she is choosing to "see" the meaning behind it all. His choice was to exit this plane of existence. Thankfully she is still alive and well so she can CHOOSE to forgive, let go, move on, and Rise in her own personal power.

My clients are such an inspiration to me. Together, we are creating a way she can transform her tragedy into a tribulation and positively impact others who may be in abusive relationships.

So no matter what your life has been like, please know that there is a meaning and purpose for it. What happens to you and because of you during your soul's journey is precisely designed for your personal evolution. You can count on Life to dish out some suffering, but it is the way of the hero, to work with it all, and then consciously create the JOY of a life well-lived.

According to the spiritual science of Akram Vignan, the meaning of ‘selfless’ is to live one’s life for the sole purpose of serving others, by whatever means one can and according to one’s skill set and ability; and to do so without expecting anything whatsoever in return.
