Learning disabilities are present in at least 10 percent of the population.
People with learning disabilities have normal or above-average intelligence, but their difficulties in processing the information their brains receive hold them back in school and at work, lead to problems with self-esteem. One of the most disastrous aspects of having a learning disability is to have your brain's inability to process information in certain ways mistaken for low intelligence.
