It's tough starting your own business no matter what you're trying to do. It can be especially hard when you're starting your first network marketing business. One of the pitfalls is that since you're working at home, it can be really tough to avoid getting too casual in your work ethic. Sure, it's ok to wear comfortable clothes - I've been known to spend the day in a cozy pair of jammies -but you don't want to get carried away. Make sure you find your balance and keep it. For example, I can work really well as early in the morning as I need to. I've been known to wake up at 4:00am to get in a good 4 hours of productive work before my daughter woke up. Other the other side, if I try to work past about 9:00pm or so, my brain will just shut down. I'm serious. Sometimes I can't manage a coherent thought late in the day. I learned this about myself back in college. Since then, I've figured out how to work with my nature, not against it. Find your natural rhythm and follow it. Another huge challenge for a new business owner is finding your business's identity. It seems like there are thousands of "experts" out there telling you to join this program or follow this strategy if you want to succeed. It can be so overwhelming to a new business owner. What they're saying might be perfectly true for them, but that doesn't mean it's right for you. Don't just take someone's word for what you should do no matter how important they might seem or how successful they might be. They're not you. Take a little time to figure out what you're passionate about. Don't worry about whether it fits into the network marketing model, or if it's what everyone else is doing. In fact, don't even think about your network marketing business for a while. Take a step back and think about you. What do you feel strongly about, how do you think, who are you? Make a list of the things that you like best about yourself and what you love doing the most. This will help you find your passion. That's your starting point for creating an identity for your network marketing business. Remember that network marketing is all about you. Your identity is the business's identity. Don't try to turn your business into what other people think it should be or try to fit into someone else's idea of what your business should look like. There's only one you. Relax and allow your natural personality to come through in your business. It's your ticket to success and happiness. I hope that was helpful. Thank You for tuning in.
