Winter breaks are popular in the UK – many people find that the holiday period can be busy and hectic, and like to take a break to recharge their batteries away from large and loud family gatherings! If you love the English winter and fancy winter breaks that will guarantee you snow, try heading for Lapland in Finland, Sweden or Norway and usually Iceland. Alternatively, many people like to take winter breaks that will get them away from chilly Britain and offer them some much needed sunshine!rnTo find winter breaks that will give you sunshine, you’ll need to head to the other side of the world – Australia and New Zealand are your best bet for warm climates in the winter months. There are lots of winter breaks available to choose from in this area, so have a careful think about what you’d like from your holiday. If you want to relax, then you might be best heading for Australia’s warm golden beaches, and enjoying a glass of award winning local wine as the sun sets. You could always fit in a few relaxing excursions – swimming or diving to explore the incredible Great Barrier Reef is a once in a lifetime experience, and there are lots of excursion trips that you can take whilst you are away. You could take a drive through the surrounding landscapes and see if you can spot any local wildlife too, or just spend your time touring along Australia’s coastline and discovering what the country has to offer.rnIf you fancy winter breaks with lots of activities, then New Zealand is probably a good choice for you. It has some of the most varied landscapes around, and incorporates glaciers, mountains, jungles and stunning coastlines. This means that the choice of activities and excursions in New Zealand is absolutely massive! If you want to manage your own time whilst you’re away, then you could opt for a self-drive holiday, which will allow you to take things at your own pace and explore the area in your own time. Alternatively, you could book onto a guided tour, which will take you around many of the sights and wonders of New Zealand. rnIf you love to walk or hike, New Zealand has some of the best scenery and routes possible, with stunning national parks, mountains and glaciers for you to explore by foot. It is possible to join a guided walking tour, so that you don’t get lost or miss out on any amazing scenery. New Zealand is also famous for active winter breaks – whether you are into golf, fishing, kayaking, cycling or bungy jumping, there will be something to suit you! If you are into one particular sport then you may be able to book a holiday completely based around that activity. Alternatively, you could opt for a multi-activity holiday if you fancy trying new things or want to push yourself – you could even book an adrenaline-tour to include skydiving, bungy jumping and zorbing - rolling around in gigantic inflatable balls! Whatever you choose, make sure you book yourself a holiday that you’ll never forget!
