The Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order (2005) and the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 have placed even greater emphasis on ensuing that Employers carry out their duty of care regarding fire safety training. As an employer it is important that all employees are aware of your company fire procedures and the action that would need to be taken in the event of any fire. This includes how to locate, understand and operate the appropriate fire safety equipment safely where this is required.
Fire Prevention of course should be the starting point, as the best way to practice fire safety is to make sure a fire doesn't break out in the first place. That means you should always be aware of potential hazards in your work place.
An ideal way to develop and then implement a robust fire safety protocol in any business is to invest in good quality fire safety training for you and your employees. A fire safety training course should be provided by an appropriately qualified company (look for the UK Fire Association Logo), who should have the relevant depth of knowledge and experience in fire safety training.
