Although this varies quite a bit from person to person, some of the foods that cause rosacea outbreaks include:

BUT the good news is, that there are many wonderful, healthy foods to eat for rosacea that will have the effect of not only calming down your rosacea outbreaks, but also preventing future outbreaks and increasing your overall health. If you find it overwhelming to make a big change in your diet all at once, you can do it gradually. When I transitioned to a gluten free diet, I did it in stages over a period of a few weeks. That was easier and gave me time to develop NEW healthy food habits. These foods are high alkaline, anti-inflammatory foods that help your body to detoxify and heal skin eruptions. People who have eaten this kind of rosacea diet have noticed that not only do they have clearer skin, they also notice fewer wrinkles and less aches and pains!
  • Foods high in Omega 3 such as walnuts, flax seed, flax seed oil, salmon and sardines help to reduce inflammation and contain valuable, skin healthy nutrients.
  • Berries such as blueberries, raspberries, blackberries contain ingredients help to reduce the inflammation of blood vessels on the skin.
  • Fresh vegetables not only contain many important nutrients, but they provide fiber which is essential to clear skin. A few types of vegetables may trigger rosacea in some people, like tomatoes, spinach or avocados.
  • Whole grains in moderate amounts can help provide warmth and balance to your diet so you don't feel deprived. Focus on low-inflammation grains like brown rice, millet, and quinoa. Wheat and rye tend to be more inflammatory and allergy producing.
  • Pure water is essential to keeping your skin healthy. It cleanses, detoxifies and keeps all your body systems running smoothly. Drink 16 ounces of pure water when you first get up in the morning, and additional glasses throughout the day.
