Five Great Elements

The Cosmos has Nine PLANETS influencing Human Life in many ways. The PLNETS also have effects on our MINDS and SUBTLE Parts of our Consciousness. The Entire Universe is made up of Five Great Elements ; AIR. FIRE, WATER, EARTH, and ETHERE . In Ayurveda these Elements are called AKASH (ETHER or SPACE), VAYU (AIR), AGNI (FIRE), JAL (WTER), PRITHVI (EARTH) respectively. The Humn Body is lso Composed of the sme Five Gret Elements, nd each of these serves specific nd important function within the Body. AIR (VAYU) : AIR is the Element of movement. All movements of the Body and within the Body voluntary as well as involuntary re effected by AIR. n AIR is also responsible for our thoughts and emotions and for the movement of Electrical Impulses along with Sensory and Motor Nerves. AIR is related to the Sence of Touch and therefore to the SKIN. FIRE (AGNI) : FIRE is responsible for the Body Temperature and Metabolism. FIRE Works on the Alimentary System, Causing Thirst, Hunger, Digestion Of Food and Assimilation of Digested Food. FIRE is also associated with Vision and Eyes. WATER ( JAL) : WATER is the Constituent of Blood, Tears, Saliva, Digestive Juices, Sweat, Urine, Semen, Cerebro Spinal Fluid (CSF), and FAT. n WATER is also related to Taste and therefore to the Tongue. Without WATER the Tongue can not recognize various Tastes. EARTH (PRITHVI) : EARTH is the Constituent of Skin, Hair, Nails, Bones, Muscles etc; EARTH is responsible for the Body-Mass. An excess of EARTH Element causes Obesity(Over Weight), where as a deficiency causes Weight Loss. n EARTH is also associated with Smell and therefore the Nose. ETHER (AKASH 0 SPACE) ; ETHER is an inactive Element that Manifests itself in the Bodily Cavities like the Cranium Cavity, The Para-nasal Sinuses, The Ear Cavity, The Mouth, The Thoracic Cavity. n ETHER Creates room within the Body, so that the rest of the Elements can act. ETHER is also associated with SOUND and HEARING. Good Health is the Natural consequence of a Balanced and Controlled Functioning of each of these Five Great Elements. n
