Intended parents are childless couples who would like to have their own children. This term is commonly used for couples who are looking into the process or agreement of surrogacy. While, surrogate mothers are mothers who are willing to carry and deliver a child for intended parents. On the other hand, surrogacy can be defined as a term for an agreement between surrogate mothers and intended parents. The agreement would consist of the different terms and guides needed for the conception up to the delivery and adoption of the child. The process of surrogacy is well protected in Florida because they have proper statutes and laws for this process. There are two main type of surrogacy and these are Traditional Surrogacy and Gestational Surrogacy. Both types of surrogacy are protected in Florida. The main difference between these two process are Traditional surrogacy involves the use of the surrogate mothers own eggs to conceive the child while Gestational surrogacy involves the use of the intended parents own egg cells and sperm cells to conceive the child. Traditional surrogacy has a higher rate of success compared to gestational surrogacy. The surrogate mother is fertilized through artificial insemination which is a relatively safe and painless process. The downside to this process is that there is a genetic link between the surrogate mother and the child. This genetic link often makes it hard for surrogate mothers to give up the child to the intended parents and can lead to legal battles. Since there is a genetic link between the surrogate mother and the child there are instances that the surrogate mother would gain custody of the child. In Gestational surrogacy the intended parent’s eggs and sperm are harvested and fertilized. The fertilized egg will then be transplanted to the surrogate mother’s womb. The process of collection and fertilization of the egg cells is known as InVitro Fertilization or IVF this process is expensive and is relatively risky compared to artificial insemination. However, there is no genetic link between the surrogate mother and the child which is less risky when it comes to emotional bonds and legality. Currently, the state of Florida protects both types of surrogacy. They have clear laws and statutes that protect the welfare of both intended parents and surrogate mothers. The clear guidelines for this process make Florida surrogates one of the most reliable surrogates in the world. If you are looking on trying this process then you would need to do enough research on the best surrogate agencies in Florida.
