The Flow of life here is related to the concept that when one is in touch with the energy of one’s self or origin, one’s creative intelligence, character and personality flows out. You radiate outward what you feel deeply within yourself. Further, as science explains, this flow has no beginning or end; we originated from something which has no form, no beginning, and no material substance. We are all essentially pure formless energy. So what is formless cannot be destroyed. It is only the physical body, which comes from this energy and also goes back into the same, in a cycle of birth and death. rnEnergy, in our mind, flows into two directions. One comes out of our emotions, leading us to an illusory lifestyle called the false self, known as ego, projecting the ‘I, me and mine’. The second flow derives its energy from our natural self, character, and personal power. This energy is our being, unlimited, with intention and awareness of our presence. This flow goes into a higher level of function, where it combines intellect with the so- called spirit within us. Primary thoughts are from ego, and the secondary thoughts, reveal our true self, meaning our intentions on the same subject in a subtle manner. I would like to elaborate on various aspects of these two energies of the mind, flow of our ego and personal power.rnQuantum physicists claim that our world is all energy, constantly flowing and unchanging. It comes from nothing, turns into form, matter or life, and then goes back into nothing. Theological view is that the universe was created by God, who will always exist. God is absolute and omnipresent, flowing from one form into the other. Spiritual leaders describe this flow as the source, inner self, spirit, soul or atman.rnLet us simply express this energy from the above, and refer to it as flow of life. We do not know its source or origin, where it comes from, and naming it as the self would be labelling it. Moreover, calling it soul or spirit is conceptual, which many of us don’t understand. Energy, however, is an infinite flow, coming into and out of form, flowing like a river, crossing boulders and dams, providing life, wherever it passes by.rnThis flow of energy in our human form, takes two directions. The first becomes limited and illusionary, gets identified with the body and is subjective and relative. This is known as flow of ego. It is constantly changing into positive or negative, attached to the past and present, forming an emotional flow. It is supposed to have a lower frequency and vibration. In the other, it is the opposite, retaining its natural way of being, with no dichotomy or duality, and is highly objective.rnTo understand the difference between flow of spirit and ego, there are innumerable books on this subject, by spiritual gurus and various philosophers. In my opinion, even if we debate one over the other, we have to journey and experience the two. Unless we trespass into both the fields, it becomes difficult to comprehend the difference. Both are manifestations of the mind, and how to utilize them in the best manner is up to us. Both are required in life at the opportune time, and as we mature with age, right usage of each is advantageous.rnEgo is essential, in this modern, technological, concrete jungle of ours. Here we are constantly in a rat race, where even if we win, we still remain rats. However, it is the ego which drives and lifts us, which creates competitiveness, makes us compare and choose. rnWe have to know when to be proactive and face challenges, especially when we are required to be victorious over others. We need our comforts, necessities and luxuries in this materialistic world, also our never ending wants have to be satisfied. For this our ego plays a big role, especially in making us into somebody from nothing. One should therefore, allow one’s children to exercise their fire of competition, and use their intellect for the purpose of rising above their peers, so long as it is constructive and positive.rnHigher the intelligence and awareness, better is the ego hidden within us. We notice that most spiritual writers, gurus and leaders who are proponents of anti-ego, are themselves desirous of recognition, fame, and increase in followers. They require cash flow for their respective institutions, to flourish and grow. Their egos are silently inflated; they mainly go to places belonging to the rich, without realizing or admitting to the same. The reason probably, is that we all require comforts of wealth and fulfilment of desires. Only then, with experience, are we able to rise and shine in wisdom, to start our journey of self actualization.rnOn the other hand, success is too seductive, and almost everyone who achieves it, forgets the qualities that first created it. The illusion of an egoist life begins, starts showing its limitations, by becoming destructive, and the flow of creativity diminishes. One always wants more, and being dissatisfied, starts seeking something in order to strengthen one’s sense of self. This is where failure of success starts; when the egoist man starts thinking he is supreme.rnBeyond this illusionary self, let us consider the other flow of energy, which is far more alive, creative, and unlimited than any of our sensory thoughts can perceive. It is relayed from the prefrontal neo cortex part of the brain, the part that links physical intellect with the spirit, or intuition, and power of subconscious, our very special personal power. This flow emanates from deep within us. This is the power of intention, our purpose or ultimate aim, and our flow of character exhibiting the combination of emotional and spiritual energies.rnWhy do I refer to this flow of energy as personal power? Firstly, in my opinion, the mind is everything, and all that we conceive of, are manifestations of the same. Spirit, soul, source, or even God, for that matter, in whatever way we may consider Him to be, are all concoctions of the mind. I repeat, there are two distinct levels in the mind, first, all data fed through our sensory organs, comprises of a domain called ‘I’, leading us to various actions and directions. Second is the other flow of energy, far deeper and stronger, where you are corrected, time and again, by this special power, stopping you, especially when you are about to do something you should not do. It takes you to a higher level of energy, strongly, subtly and silently.rnThis is the infinite, unlimited flow, deriving its energy from the subconscious, the special power within, but it differs in degree amongst us. That is why I call it personal power, rather than use any other synonyms mentioned above.rnIt is this inner power that drives us against all odds, and by which we can change our fate. In some of us it is stronger, whereas in others, we are required to understand, build upon, and realize its importance. This power silently steps in when we are doing something wrong, and also reassures us when things do not always go our way. It is for us to utilize this special flow, make it work in harmony with our emotions, and not be dictated by external forces.rnAlways remember, this personal power deep within you, is your purpose, your ultimate aim. It is you within you. It is your intention, your flow of character. It is for you to decide, when to take this flow of energy into higher levels and discover yourself to be someone higher than ever you dreamed yourself to be. Never let this flow take you to a level where you do not feel worthy of yourself.rnGian KumarrnTags : Flow of lifeSource : Know thyself by Gian kumar, http://www.booksonspirituality.com/
