Football managers can wipe their stressed brows at last, as the January transfer window has finally closed. Expensive deals have been made across the board and some of the country’s most sought-after footballers can look forward to the rest of the season. Transfer rumours have been dominating the football news for months, but here are some of the final confirmed details. Manchester City sign David Pizarro Manchester City has signed Chilean international David Pizarro on loan from Roma until the end of the season. The 32-year-old, who was also wanted by Juventus, will strengthen City’s midfield and work his magic in the number eight shirt. Pizarro has been united once again with City’s manager Roberto Mancini under whom he played at Inter Milan, and he will bring plenty of experience to the party. His career highlights include winning the Serie A title (2005–2006), three Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana winners’ medals. Arsenal sign Thomas Eisfeld Talented midfielder Thomas Eisfeld has joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund on a long-term contract. The 19-year old was spotted by the Gunners’ scouting network after an impressive spell with the Bundesliga club and is believed to have all the right skills. Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger told the club’s official website: “Thomas is a player we have liked for some time. We’ve watched him closely this season, where he excelled for Dortmund’s youth team.” Eisfeld can play in a range of positions and has already captained Germany’s under-15 team. Newcastle sign Papiss Demba Cissé Newcastle have signed Senegal striker Papiss Demba Cissé from Freiburg for an undisclosed fee. The Magpies are thought to have spent £10million on this nimble forward who joins his international team-mate Demba Ba. Newcastle’s manager Alan Pardew said: "Ever since Andy Carroll left, Papiss was my first choice in the specific role he has at the end of the play. He is a finisher with an already established CV in the Bundesliga, where we have monitored him for the best part of two years.” Cissé has already scored a significant number of goals in theBundesliga this season and netted the winner for his country in an Africa Cup of Nations warm-up game against Kenya. Liverpool sign Jordan Ibe Live football scores are exciting, but Liverpool fans must have leapt for joy when the club announced they had signed Wycombe wonder Jordan Ibe. The Reds fought off interest from Manchester United and Spurs and eventually sealed the deal back in December. Ibe caught the attention of football managers when he became the youngest ever scorer in the Football League (finding the net just days before his 16th birthday). The teenage forward is set to finish is final year at a South London school before moving to Liverpool in the summer. The back pages will be alive with all the latest football news for months to come, but which new arrivals do you think will be the talk of the terraces between now and May?
