Four Easy Ways To Meditate
Meditation is so beneficial to us for our mind, body and soul. There are many different ways and methods to meditate. Below are some methods you can try, for each of them make sure that you will not be disturbed and that you are sitting comfortably with your back and head are supported, you can play some relaxing music if you like.
1. Breath Watching.
Close your eyes and start to pay attention to your breathing. Just observe the breath as it enters and exits the body, noticing your body's movements and the feel of the air in your nostrils. You don't need to change your breathing in any way, just observe it.If your mind wanders, just bring your attention back to the breath. This is a gentle and very relaxing way to meditate, it may take a little bit of getting used to but it's well worth it.
2. Walking Meditation.
You can walk outside, in the room, it doesn't matter, the important thing with this meditation is to be completely focused on the activity and nothing else. Be aware of the movement of your legs and breathing and body as you walk, and of the feeling of your feet contacting the ground. If your mind wanders, just keep bringing it back to the process of walking and breathing. This can be an incredible way to connect with nature if you are outside!
3. Mindfulness Meditation.
Mindfulness is the art of becoming completely aware of what is here right now. You focus on what's happening in and around you at this very moment, and become aware of all the thoughts and feelings that are taking your energy from moment to moment. You can start by watching your breath, and then move your attention to the thoughts going through your mind, the feelings in your body, and even the sounds and sights around you. The key is to this method is to simply watch without judging or analyzing.
4. Mantra Meditation.
Many people find it easier to keep their mind from wandering if they concentrate on something specific. A mantra can help. This is a word or phrase that you constantly repeat as you sit in meditation. The mantra can be anything, use positive words and the present tense, for example,”I am calm”.
