Does the Holy Bible say people who become saved in Jesus Christ (born again - made new creatures in him), will never sin during their Christian lifetimes on Earth? No, in fact it tells Christians that if they say they have no sin, they are lying. But there is ongoing forgiveness-provision.
1 John 1:7-10 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

Note the distinction in the passage above of saying, "we have no sin" (currently, as a Christian who struggles against it) and saying, "we have not sinned' (no sin in our past), are both lies one can say about their self. The admonishment by the apostle John, is to warn against a Christian not repenting of sin that can still occur, though non-habitually, due to their non-resurrected body (yet to be glorified as Jesus' was).

If habitually practiced sin occurs in a Christian, they need to re-dedicate their lives back to God through Jesus Christ (Luke 15:24 and Revelation 2:5). If a Christian says they have never sinned in their past, they need to confess this lie to God and repent of it. We do not lose our humanity after receiving Christ to be saved. We are born again within our spirits but our bodies (which still contain sin), will not be glorified; changed to supe
atural holy bodies, until the resurrection, which we also call "The Rapture".

About the Author

I am a graduate of Liberty University (1996) for completion of theological studies (33 college credits) and I completed "Bible Survey" with Assemblies of God - Berean College. I consider myself a "Bapticostal" (a Baptist also having Pentecostal beliefs). Bible studies are one of my most-covered book subjects. I am however, careful to only address those subjects I believe God has given me correct revelation on. I was a Christian Youth Minister, beginning in 1983 for approximately 18 years. During, between and after youth ministries I served in other church capacities as well, including interim pastoring and retirement home ministry. MOST IMPOTANTLY, I am a redeemed man, who has received salvation by acceptance of Jesus Christ (John 3:16).
