Fundraising is one of the main goals of the EIF Revlon Run/Walk. And we are proud that this is one of the best cancer fundraising events of the year. Here are some fundraising ideas to get you started on your way to helping find your Womentum! We’d love to hear your successful fundraising tips! Share your fundraising tips with us and we’ll add them to our list. E-mail fundraising tips to: fundraiseny@revlonrunwalk.org (fundraisela@revlonrunwalk.org) For Individuals and Team Members - Set a fundraising goal! You are asked to set a goal while setting up your Participant Center during registration. You can modify your fundraising goal too! Ask your friends, family and co-workers, or someone who cannot run or walk on the day of the event to sponsor you. - Host an event (party, celebration, chili cook-off etc.) with a suggested donation to attend. - Maximize matching gifts. Does your company have a Matching Gift Program? If so, it’s an easy way to increase your fundraising total. Check with your company’s human resources department to see if they have a matching gift program. If your company does not have one, talk to management about starting one! (Note: The actual matching gift donation must be postmarked no later than June 10, 2011 to be counted towards your fundraising award total.) - Promote your fundraising page. Place it on your Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Blog, or other social networking sites. Add it to the bottom of your emails. - Make a short video and post it on your YouTube channel. Let your friends know why fighting women’s cancers is important to you and ask them to support you! - Contact local restaurants to see if they will allow you to host a fundraising night. You invite your friends and neighbors to eat dinner at the restaurant and the restaurant donates proceeds from their sales to your fundraising. - Gaming tournaments are also a great fundraising event for bars and restaurants; proceeds from pool, ping-pong, darts or video game tournaments can benefit your fundraising. - Show your appreciation for donating to the fight against women’s cancers by sending a thank you letter with details on the event to each sponsor. They will remember your thoughtfulness next year! For Teams - Team captains should make sure you set your team fundraising goal and ask team members to help reach it by setting personal fundraising goals as well. If each team member raises just $250, we will be closer to finding a cure. - Have your office offer incentive awards to your top fundraisers. An extra paid vacation day, an extra casual day, sporting/concert tickets, gift certificates or dinner out can be very inspiring! - Plan fundraisers within your organization, i.e. silent auctions, bake sales, ice cream socials, theme luncheons, or garage sales. - Ask employees, family members, friends or team members to submit designs for your team t-shirt. Turn this into a fundraiser by suggesting a donation to submit. Have everyone “vote” on their favorite design with dollar donations and then offer the t-shirts to non-walkers for suggested donations. - Accept donations towards the EIF Revlon Run/Walk for adding names to the company t-shirt —include options for “in support of” and “in memory of”. - Encourage friendly competition between departments to increase your overall team pledges. Post a chart in plain view, and keep a running tally! - Have a “loose change” donation jar. Ask everyone in your office to empty their pocket change into the jar every day. Use a clear jar, and watch it fill up. Have a department competition, and see which jar fills first, or how many jars you can fill! - Organize team intramurals, and challenge a rival company, department or school to a softball game, bowling match, poker night, etc. with all proceeds going towards to the EIF Revlon Run/Walk. With your help we can fight women's cancers and eradicate them so no other wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend has to endure cancer. Sign up for the Revlon Run/Walk for Women and/or donate to the fight against women's cancer.

The Silent Shift: How the Cloud is Redefining the Heart of Business Operations Imagine a bustling call center from the early 2000s.
