SEO is without a doubt one of the most powerful tools any business can use to drive highly targeted traffic to their website. That’s why it’s so crucial for businesses, regardless of their size, to always use cutting edge techniques when it comes to SEO and the algorithm changes that take place on a regular basis. Too many sites owners believe it’s their right to rank high on Google. But Google doesn’t care a bit about what you believe. Google’s primary endeavor is to get best possible results for its users. With that being said, let’s dive in and discuss the first key factor all businesses need to focus on when it comes to SEO. Key Factor #1 – Valuable Content Content was, still is, and will always be king. When it comes to SEO, your number one job is to provide valuable content. As Adams said, Google, as well as Bing and Yahoo, want to provide their users with the best possible results. If your content doesn’t provide any value, don’t expect it to rank well. Most content creators make the huge mistake of writing for the search engines. They forget it’s a human being on the other end. They overdo it with keywords and publish content that is very difficult to read. And while that may have worked in the past, these days it will get your site sandboxed by Google. To ensure your content gets maximum exposure which will ultimately help it get ranked higher in the search engine, always share it with as many people as you can. If you have a social media following, share it with them. If you have an email list, let them know anytime you post a new piece of content on your site. Key Factor #2 – Local Search In the last few years’ local search has really started to dominate the search engines. In 2016 and beyond you can expect local search to completely change the landscape of SEO. This is because of devices such as the Apple Watch which allows users to quickly search for specific businesses based on their current location. If you haven’t been using local search, now is the time to start. Key Factor #3 – Mobile This tip comes from the SEO experts at search engine marketing Halifax. Mobile search is absolutely huge. So huge in fact that Google changed their algorithm a few years ago to start excluding sites that aren’t mobile-friendly. According to Statista.com 70 percent of mobile users will access the internet via their device. That means mobile internet usage is now a huge part of billions of people lives. Mobile users are using smartphones and tablets to do everything from share pictures with friends and family to shop at their favorite stores. If your site isn’t mobile-friendly, not only will your rankings suffer, but your bottom line will suffer as well. If your site isn’t currently mobile-friendly, be sure to update it as soon as possible, or talk to the professional who can make a huge difference in your overall SEO rankings.
