Silent Autumn evenings, I think of old times. My pleasant memories bring me to that day when my mother presented me my first board game. She came back home from her business trip and with a happy smile told me that she has got a funny and new game for me. It was unexpectedly! She opened the packing and gave me that present. I was amazed at how she learned about that I wanted that particular battleships. Only now I pierce that she read it in my diary, which I kept the whole time when I was a child. I was entirely happy, what more could I desire then! Therefore, I had battleships and I was ready to open up new vistas.
On the following day I presented my battleships to my friends. Each of them observed my board game with a keen interest. Colorful counters, endless board and threatening shipboard attracted them particularly. All of them wanted to contend with me and try himself a head of this powerful fleet. Pitifully, all of them had a row with each other and nobody wanted to give his way. Ultimately I considered myself the first my rival and some of my friends resented at me and left our company. The others decided to wait for a queue. No doubt this incident upset me a bit, but a new engagement boosted my spirits and in a short time I was involved in it.
We met regularly and played with delight until someday an unsuspected bad weather spoiled our game. It was pouring with rain and my sincere friends got off to their hoses. They were so scared of that damned shower that one of them stood on the board and broke it and the other pressed several ships in the mud. I was oppressed by their behavior. Battlefield so important for me, was almost destroyed by those who was so glad to play it. Tears fulfilled me and I started to look for all the details of my game and pack them. When I came back home I was soaked to the boan. I left the playground with all my hopes frustrated and hearts broken. I also was ill.
My parents understood everything while looking at the rest of my board game. No, they didn’t abuse me, more of that my mother bought me the other board game. Really, I haven’t expected it. Beautiful checkers were given me. My father gave a word to teach me not only to play, but also to win and enfleshed me it. I forgot about that occasion with battleships and played checkers. My father opened a lot of secrets and showed me many combinations. But there was a problem in looking for other gamers. We played merely with my father. Firstly, we played often, but then our contest decreased. I faced to the problem where to find opponents. I wasn’t determined to ask fellows any longer, because I caught that they wouldn’t respect neither me, nor my things. I also didn’t want to ask my father, because I saw him so tired after job. Several times I had an experience to play with myself, but I knew about all the combinations which my daddy showed me and successfully avoided my tricks.
Time passed by. Everything changed. I won admission to the Institute and made new acquaintances, but compulsive urge to the board games kept in my heart. My friends recommended me to look for new games in the Internet. By that time I had a computer, and made a decision to look through the web-site and try to play. Oh, there were not just checkers and battleships, but also many other games like corners, backgammon, chess. Some games were new for me that time, but my group mates brought me up to date. So, I received an opportunity to play with other people. There were a lot of people who were determined to play. Some of them were even from my city, but some people were from other countries. I saw the most successful gamers on the first page of the Top-list and I was grimly determined to see my name among them.
Really multiplayer online board games were a magnificent alternative. I didn’t depend neither on the weather condition nor free time of my relatives. My virtual opponents couldn’t ruin my game. Soon, I started to succeed in backgammon and corners and won my father in checkers, nevertheless he said that his friend drew him off when he had been involved in the game.
