“There is nothing as important as gardening and even that is not that important”, states the old Japanese saying. We, gardening enthusiasts tend to agree – at least with the first part.
Are you a new comer in the world of gardening? Are you after some gardening news and garden information? We can give you a brief introduction.
When you start your gardening hobby, you can check the garden bargains; get started with something affordable and easy to build up your confidence in gardening. Your skills will develop in time. Before you go and fetch your plants, pond equipment and other amazing things, you need to concentrate on garden equipment.
What kind of garden equipment do you need? A lawnmower, rake and shovel, sure. What else?
The garden equipment you’ll need has obviously a lot to do with what you’re planning to do. If you’re doing some landscaping, you need bigger and heavier tools, maybe some extra manpower as well. For basic gardening you need the basic garden equipment. There are many options, but when buying your tools, think of the following:

  • Try the product: Is the weight and the grip size suitable for you?
  • Consider the materials with the jobs: will the material of the tool last when you are using it. Stainless steel slides through soil nicely. Steel tools are strongest, aluminum and plastic ones are the lightest.
  • Power tools are often quite expensive, but don’t get the cheapest. Consider first, for example if you need it to be battery or mains powered.
  • Go DIY: for example pond equipment can be purchased readymade or you can get creative and design your own pond.

Probably the most popular question for those just starting gardening is: when can I plant? Unfortunately the idea to start a new hobby doesn’t always go hand in hand with the seasons. You might feel you want to start skiing right in the middle of the hottest summer, as well as you might get into gardening when it’s not quite the time to plant. And planting is really fun, so you’ll want to try it as soon as you can.
When we don’t know where you are living or what time of the year it is, we recommend you check the local gardening news, there is always something to do. Also go and check out your local gardening store, they’re happy to give you information on what to do at a particular time of year. They can tell you exactly what to plant and when, they’ll also guide you on whether a plant is easy or difficult to maintain.

Garden and outdoors hobbies have always their challenges. Maybe you’ve planned a gardening day just to notice that it’s raining. Don’t be disappointed: any weather can be gardening weather, well at least if there’s no hurricane. With the right attitude and the right gardening clothes you’ll be warm comfortable – even if it’s raining.
Enjoy gardening; just remember that nothing is as important!
