Castors are something that has been around for decades. They are used in a many different ways. Some are made for special applications as is the Gate Castors that we will talk about today. Castors are wheels that are attached to the bottom of items that make it easier to move them around. When it comes to gates with castors; they help in the opening and shutting of gates. It depends on the type of castor that is being used but some can hold up to 125 pounds. Unlike other Castors these special ones are not designed to carry heavy loads. There are some castors that can hold up to 2000 pounds. The ones were for gates were not made for this. This is not to say that they are not as strong as the other castors or they are not made with the same high quality materials. These gates with castors are used in a many places like at residential homes, commercial businesses and even an industrial environment. They are used for slide gates and for swing gates. The castors on these gates will make opening and closing the gate much easier then it would be possible without them.

The castors have clamps on them that are universal. They will work with any gate whether it is made out of metal or wood or any other material. These castors are commonly used because they are spring loaded. How does the spring loaded feature help the gates? It helps because it absorbs the vibration and shock that usually occurs with these kinds of gates that are opened and closed a great deal. You will find gates with castors all over the place; you may be surprised at how many places you find them at.

One of the places you will find gates like these are at storage facilities. This is where the gates usually slide open. It is important that the gate slides easily at these kinds of facilities and the castors on the gates make this possible. These gates are opened and closed on a consistent basis. The gates with castors can handle this pressure.

There are other places like factories, warehouses and other businesses that have these kinds of gates. These are places with a high amount of traffic coming and leaving all throughout the day and night. The gates with castors will open and close easily to keep traffic moving. You will also often see these gates in gated communities. Sometimes they will be open automatically but sometimes there is an employee opening and shutting the gate. These castors on the gates make the employee’s job much easier.

Gate Castors have definitely changed the world in gates. You can find the specific type you need for you. There are different sizes and weights so you can find the best ones that will work for you.
