So many people suffer from acne nowadays, it's a wonder there is still no official cure. Statistics show us that 80 percent of teen-agers and about 1 adult out of 5 have to deal with a more or less severe case of this skin problem.

You would think people would want to get rid of acne fast.

Still, it has been noticed that acne will at time go away and the skin will clear up, even though the person has taken no specific step to treat their condition. Yet, the persons who want to get rid of their acne fast need to follow some kind of program. It is also important to consider that acne can create some important scarring and/or generate psychological issues.

How does acne develop in the first place?

The pores of your skin create a hydrating substance known as sebum, through a small hole called the follicle. This substance allows for the protection of the skin which has to deal on a daily basis with too hot or too called weathers, with fumes, with pollution of every kind.

Each time we have a patient who produces too much sebum, we have a case of acne, ranging from mild to severe. Indeed, sebum plugs the pores, bacteria start multiplying, and a host of troublesome physical manifestations may ensue: comedones, seborrhea, nodules, papules, pustules, cysts. That is when people start thinking they might as well get rid of their acne fast!

Should leaving acne 'as is' be considered an option?

Many acne sufferers tend to delay doing anything of importance to clear their skin, perhaps thinking time is all that's needed. It is generally NOT a good idea, and the consequences of such carelessness far outweigh the 'hassle' of going through a clearly defined anti-acne protocol. These should help you understand why you should probably get rid of acne fast:

  • Chances are, in the process of fight against acne-caused inflammation, your skin will develop scarring of its tissue. Studies have shown these odds increase, together with the risk of permanent scarring, as years go by.
  • Many people develop cysts. These are tough to clear, they can be painful, and sometimes will call for surgery!
  • Studies show that people who have acne touch their face a lot more, yet in the process, because they have lesions on their skin, they are at a higher risk of inviting into their body serious pathogens.

So who wants to get rid of acne fast, now?!
