What we say to ourselves and how we say it have such a tremendous power to shape our lives. In fact, as you take a close look at your life right now you need to realise that who and where you are right now is the result of what you have thought up to this moment.

That’s right, every action you have taken has brought you to where you are right now. And as Ralph Waldo Emerson reminds us, “The ancestor of every action is a thought.” Everything, absolutely everything begins with thought.

Each of us has an inner dialogue that we run every waking moment of every day. We evaluate the world around us through this dialogue. We say things to ourselves over and over again; things that often may not be true at all, but are the result of some deep seated belief developed from childhood.

Most people are not even aware of this inner dialogue’s existence, let alone what statements it consists of. And if this dialogue is a negative one, it can virtually destroy your life by sending you spinning into unexplainable depression and despair.

Fortunately, help is at hand! We have a very powerful tool at our disposal that can rewrite that dialogue for us, thus giving us the power to reprogram our thinking so that it supports and encourages us in every way – so that it leads us toward our dreams instead of away from the.

That tool is affirmations.

Affirmations, when used on a daily basis and repeated in the correct way have the power to transform your life.

Here are 3 easy steps for creating your own positive affirmations:

1. Always state your affirmations in the present tense. Your brain recognises the power of “now” as being the only useful moment. So instead of placing an affirmation in the future like, “I will achieve my ideal weight,” you would say, “I have happily achieved my ideal weight.”
2. Use “I am”, “I feel” or “I have” to start your affirmations. If you start with “I want,” you will attract more wanting. Think carefully about the message you are putting out into the Universe. The Universe will always reflect that message back to you, and bring into your experience what you think over and over.
3. Make certain that you are genuinely passionate about your affirmations. They should be something that make you feel great, pulsating with light and life. They should spark enthusiasm in you.

Take these simple steps and begin your journey toward the real you. Use them on a daily basis, and you will transform your life from the ordinary into the extraordinary!
