I have heard about veneers many times, but I never got a chance to explore them closely. My knowledge bank got updated when I came across an article on veneer wood. Veneer means thin layers of wood procured from lumber, that are typically used on plywood, particle board or medium density fiber board to produce panels of different shapes and sizes such as doors, table tops, cabinet panels, parquet floors, and furniture. Veneers come in different cuts like quarter and crown and in different forms such as vertical, horizontal and slip method veneers.

Semi Rotary / Rift Cut – The cut is made by fixing a quarter-log on the stay-log and mainly used in American woods. This type is the most expensive one due to the least yield out of log.

Rotary Cut – This Veneer is procured by fixing a quarter-log on the stay- Another type of cut in logs containing burls and clusters and for Birch and Sucupira species as well.
