If you are a realtor, than local search engine optimization is an important part of the future of your local real estate business. Getting consistent reviews and citations are some of the best ways to insure you get to the top of your local search results. Citations are when someone mentions your business name and address on other webpages, even if there is no link to your website. Reviews are when someone post a comment about you or your business in different locations on the web. In this article I am going to give you a couple key ideas to use when getting citations and reviews.

Local Websites and Blogsr
All you have to do to get a citation or a link from these local websites or blogs is to do a search using your city's name and the word blog or website. The blogs or sites that show up are indexed as blogs/websites that are located in your area. So when you get a link or citation from them it tells Google and the other search engines that you are a trusted source of information in your city.

Local Search Engines and Data Providersr
The different local search engines often reference each other to correct and conform business information. The reason its important to register your business in as many different local search engines like Google Places, Bing, Yahoo business is because the more the search engines can validate you are who you are the more trusted you become. The more trusted your business becomes the more likely you are to be at the top of the local search engines.

Make it simple for your client to give you a reviewr
Most of your clients will have smart phones. What this means to you is that when your driving with them in your car on the way to show a home you can ask them to leave positive review for you.

If they don't have a smart phone pull the lap top out. One great place to do this is at the closing table. As long as your clients had a great experience its very likely that they will leave you a great review.

Its ok to get multiple reviews. If you are spending a lot of time with a client its ok to get multiple reviews at different sites like Google Places, Yelp, and so on. I like to think of it as a way they can help me a little bit more since I am helping the a little bit more.
