rnEating well- prepared healthy food gives your child the energy to learn and grow. With the right choice of food you present the toddler proper lifelong eating habits, which will maintain a healthy weight, sharp his or her mind and provide a well- being.

Cook healthy

Until now you were responsible only for your own dinner. You perhaps used to order food from Italian or Chinese restaurants because of the busy schedule. Well, all that have to remain in the past. Now you are a parent and have to prepare the dinner for your family at home excluding frozen chicken nuggets and half- prepared foods. Load your fridge with fresh vegetables, chicken meat, dairy and cereals. Replace the white bread with whole- grain one. Forget about french fries and welcome braise vegetables and meat cooked into the oven or at the grill pan.

Become a good example

Your child loves you and want to be just like you in every part of your life. The little person always looks at you, observe every move and copy even the most insignificant detail of your behavior. Following this thought, you are strong enough to make him or her eat whatever you decide that it appropriate, only if you start to consume this as well. Change your own eating habits for the good and healthy life of your child. No matter how obedient and well- behaved the toddler is, there is no chance you to eat pizza in front of the TV while the kid has to dinner vegetables at the table without contradictions, right?

Make your child eat breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially for child growing up. Wake up him or her ten minutes earlier to have time for breakfast. Prepare different meal each morning and change off the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with various alternatives like cereal, pancakes, waffles, boiled eggs and cheese or something that appears well to you.

Keep healthy food at hand

The food that you stock in the house is the only choice of your child. If your cupboards are overcrowded with chips and mini cakes, then that's what you beloved child going to choose. Instead of that, keep fresh fruits in a big bowl on the table and have an apple for your snack because, as we mentioned, your actions scream louder that the words can say.

Don't use food as a reward or a punishment

It is fine to take the kids out for an ice- cream if their behavior was good and appropriate, but don't let the reward to become the source of that attitude. Instead, use some techniques that are more physical and even mental like a quick game of catch or a hug and a kiss. This way you will build a strong relationship and will avoid the hassle.

Make the food appear funny

For the toddlers everything is new and appear extremely interesting. They are always happy and want to discover new things. Take advantage of this and make the healthy food funny for them. For example, serve broccoli and liken them to little trees, or make smiley face with cinnamon or brown sugar over the surface of the oatmeal. The eating habits of your child are in your hands. Take whatever it takes to make them prefer healthy meals instead of junk food and candy. This will be their behavior for lifelong and will reflect over their child too. That's way your task is both difficult and important.
