"GIKBDIR and GID"
What in the heck does this gobbledygook mean? It means Get In, Kick Butt, Do It Right, and Get It Done. I created this mindset decades ago when my kids were young. It was how I went about handling business, investing, and life in general. I wanted to teach my kids this as a way of life…
It is a lifestyle, not just a saying!
So what does it mean? Let’s break it down.
Get in – Don’t procrastinate, get on it now!
Kick butt – Put your full efforts into whatever it is you do..
Do it right – Get it done right the first time.
Get it done – Focus on completion of the task.
My poor kids heard this so many times when they were kids. I wanted them to know this methodology. I think it is so important that I wanted to share it with you too!
Tim’s Top Ten Tips to be a GIKBDIR and GID Person and how you can incorporate this into your daily habits.
1. Be EEP – You want to focus on being efficient, effective, and productive. This is a way of life.
2. It doesn’t happen twice – We learn from our mistakes and be sure to never make the same mistake twice.
3. Finds allies – The path is more fun and more fruitful with others along for the journey.
4. Delegate – Have all menial tasks that you don’t want to do, dislike to do, or do not serve you done by others. (This is why earning more is imperative!)
5. Get up early – Get up one hour earlier to prepare and organize yourself for the day. Hal Elrod’s Miracle Morning is a great tool for this.
6. Make To Do lists – Have clear marching orders daily. Make the To Do list the night before while going over what you accomplished that day.
7. Have a big why – Having a compelling reason to do the next thing will fuel the project.
8. Be a confidence person – People want to deal with someone with confidence and know they can get the job done. Be that person.
9. Go at a faster pace – It’s a lifestyle. Push yourself to pick up the pace a bit. Notice how ideas and answers come when we are “in flow.”
10. Slow down and get quiet – I know this contradicts #9. But we do need to slow down from time to time to recharge. The answers come when we are silent. Listen intently. Find time to get quiet. Best while out in nature, if possible.
So there you have it, everything you need to know about the GIKBDIR and GID Lifestyle. All you have to do now is… Git ‘er done!

About the Author
Tim would tell you that he got off to a slow start. After growing up in the rural town of Portola in Northern Califo
ia and barely graduating high school, Tim Rhode found himself at the age of 25 working as a grocery clerk with two young children to provide for.
He eventually found his “niche” selling real estate; and from 1986 to 2000, he sold over 2,500 homes and from 1997 to 2006 he invested in over 100 properties. Tim focused on saving money, keeping his expenses low, and playing solid “financial defense” which allowed him to basically retire, and he was financially free at the age of 40.
Not wanting to play hike, bike or ski all day, Tim threw his energy into his true passion: helping people thrive and live their most fulfilling life. He founded the nonprofit 1Life Fully Lived to help people of all ages gain the tools and skills they need to thrive and also co-founded GoBundance, a high-level mastermind, with David Osborn, Pat Hiban and Mike McCarthy to help healthy, wealthy, generous people lead epic lives. We have a women’s tribe now!
Tim has also authored numerous books and has been featured on a variety of podcasts and media outlets. He now lives near his children in the High Sierras with his wife and dog.
