In order to be eligible to Overseas Education, there are certain tests of admission that students have to appear for and secure a certain score. One of these tests is the GMAT or Graduate Management Admission Test. The GMAT is a world renowned admission test that is a requirement for candidates that are seeking admission to Graduate Management programs at Management Education institutions and schools globally. The GMAT is specially designed to help Graduate Schools of Business assess the qualifications of applicants for advanced study in Business and Management. GMAT scores are used by more than 3,000 Graduate Management programs throughout the world and is also accepted by selected Indian Business Schools.rnThe GMAT test measures General Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical Writing Skills that are associated with academic success in the core courses of Graduate Management programs. The GMAT examination does not presuppose any specific knowledge of business or of other specific content areas, nor does it measure achievement in any particular subject area. How is the GMAT conducted?rnThe GMAT is a computer-based test, that comprises of 4 main sections, in the following order:rnVerbal Reasoning (English)rnQuantitative Reasoning (Math)rnAnalytical Writing Assessment - AWA (Essays) rnIntegrated Reasoning (IR) - Started from June 2012 rnThe total score is 800 and measures performance on the quantitative and verbal sections only. Performance on the AWA and IR sections do not contribute to the total score. Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA):rnThe Analytical Writing Assessment mainly consists of an argumentative essay on a topic that is provided. This section of the GMAT is conducted for 30 minutes. Quantitative Reasoning:rnThe Quantitative Reasoning section focuses on Mathematics. The topics covered in this section are, Data sufficiency, Data Interpretation and Statistics, and finally Problem Solving. This section has about 35 questions that have to be solved in 62 minutes. Verbal Reasoning:rnThe Verbal Reasoning section of the GMAT comprises of a Reading Comprehension, Sentence Correction and Critical Reasoning. There are about 42 questions in this section and the allotted time is 65 minutes.rnIntegrated Reasoning: This section of the GMAT includes Table Analysis, Graphics Interpretation, Multi Score Reasoning and Two part Analysis. There are 12 questions in this part and the time allotted to this section is 30 minutes. Some additional information: The Argument Essay portion of the test does not present a choice of topics. One topic will be presented. The student is advised to always argue and disagree with the view that the essay presents.rnMulti-Source Reasoning questions have information tabs that are presented alongside the section. Test takers can click on these tabs and examine the information, which may be a combination of text, charts, and tables to answer either multiple-choice or opposite-answer questions.rnTwo-Part Analysis questions involve two components for a solution. Possible answers are given in a table format with a column for each component and rows with possible options. Test takers have to choose one response per column. The GMAT is a Computer Adaptive Test, which means that with each correct answer, the test becomes tougher or more advanced in level of difficulty. The GMAT Scoring Scale ranges from 200 to 800, with the latter being the highest. The AWA is calculated on a scale of 6. The Integrated Reasoning is calculated on a scale of 8. A good GMAt score is 650+ out of 800. This test of admission is valid for 5 years from the date of the result declaration. Student Testimonials I think Edwise is just a bridge from India to the UK.
