Life, Breastfeeding, And What Is Beautiful

My greatest accomplishment is being a stay-at-home mother. I went from modeling designer lingerie in front of a staged refrigerator...to wearing my La Leche nursing bra in front of a real refrigerator with my two year old son's art work on it. I am a proud extended breastfeeding mother to our toddler son. My main focus is and will always be my family.

I am also proudly over 40. But I am even more proud to be a wife and mother. Raising our child hasn't been easy. My husband and I take care of our son on our own. I respect other parent's choices, just as others respect my choices to breastfeed and not hire nannies. We believe that attachment parenting is the best for our little one and although two plus years of nursing have been more challenging than twenty plus years of modeling, being a dedicated wife and mother is by far the most rewarding job ever.

Beauty...It's not just what you see on the cover of a magazine. It's what every woman is, regardless of her age, weight, color, or breast size. It's who we all are. Don't let society dictate an ideal. Be what you see in those "skinny models"...without dieting or wanting to be different from what you are. I believe that I look better now than ever before...with no surgery, no dieting, no exercise a day in my life, and no drugs...I look better because I know myself better...and I feel better...more complete.

The secret to beauty is not looking for a secret...It's being confident and happy with who you are.

God knows I've evolved from my life's experiences. What matters is that I am loved by my loved ones, and will always love what I see when I look in the mirror. I am a child of God, as I believe all living beings deserve to be treated with the same goodness, love and compassion that He shows.

Life is about doing, with no restrictions, loving, with no conditions, and living, with no regrets. There was a time once when I thought I had nothing, but what I really had was nothing to lose. And now I realize that I am truly blessed, because I have it all. Just when you think you know it all, you learn more. Just when you think you know God, you look into the eyes of your newbo
child and truly see Him. Just like beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, magic will always be in the mind of the believer. My life is filled with beauty, love and magic. And that is how it should be for everyone.
