Extra ordinary leadership is not just something injected into our DNA makeup. Good leadership skills are to be developed, nurtured and inspired into doing works of greatness. There are various factors that can be blended into our inherent skill over a period of time. When developing leadership, one is confronted with the question of which leadership style is best suited for the leader as well as the organization. Although there are various types of leadership defined today, extra ordinary leaders are those who first of all gauge their minds to assess where they stand in terms of commitment, being assertive, passion to carry out their vision and courage to finding solutions in addition to being confident and honest and mostly take advantage of natural laws in developing leadership skills. The development of a winning leadership style is already halfway through once the leader has gone through this self-assessing process. The next logical step is to develop those areas of weakness and strengthen those which are already well-endowed. This can be done through tapping the power of the mind. Once a person is determined to develop his/her personality traits, his/her mind starts to focus more and more on achieving these traits. This intense concentration of his/her mind sets off the law of attraction – a like-minded person will attract other like-minded people. A common vision is born and is worked hard at for it to metamorphose into reality. The leader will, over a period of time, develop his mind whereby he will not live by situational ethics, but remain true to their highest standards and principles no matter what the consequences. Such leaders will develop the humility to admit their mistakes.Such leaders will not have a “laissez faire” attitude of minimalistic involvement in the organization neither will their style be an autocratic one. They are more likely to be participative leaders. There are differences between leaders who have developed their leadership styles through developing their mind power and ordinary leaders. These differences are apparently subtle ones but they have a great impact in the final outcome. Leaders who have learnt to use mind power will be strong without necessarily being rude. They are kind without being weak. They are bold people yet at the same time they are not bullies. They develop into thoughtful people without appearing to be lazy. They may be proud, nevertheless without a hint of arrogance. Their humility shows through and is never mistaken for timidity. Their leadership styles are visionary in nature. They think big, clear and purposefully. And what is even more significant is that they share their vision with others which result in others being inspired to give their best for a common cause and purpose. Therefore, great leaders are not born, but are made. The tools that go into making a great leader are mind power and mind maps all taking advantage of laws of attraction. These important tools are indispensable to the development of a confident, succeeding and inspirational good leadership skills. It is an area that is worth exploring for not just the transformation of an ordinary leader to an extra-ordinary one, but also because of the change it brings about in an ordinary human being by making him/her dream of dreams that he/she wouldn’t otherwise dare to.
