The Panda Update
The Panda Update was one that took place in 2011, and it remains one of the most essential updates ever created by Google. What the Panda does is provide an update to the filter system for Google. This filtration system searches for websites which are trying to hoodwink the system. It searches for such things as duplicate content, any content which is thin and deliberately adds in keywords for the sake of keywords, and also any text which is just blatant keyword stuffing. The Venice Update
As you can probably tell, Google remains one of the top search engines because it continues to make updates which can benefit everyone. In this case, they released the Venice Update in 2012. This allowed Google to use the IP address of each user to provide them with services relevant to their location.
