Google now intends to work on a search ranking penalty for sites that are “over SEO-optimized”. Google's Matt Cutts has recently given a hint in this regard. The underlying purpose behind this whole exercise is to encourage sites that have great content on Google's search engine result pages (SERP) and punish the sites that have content that is not as great but strongly focus on SEO-optimization. After all, Google wants to show up the most-relevant sites only when users search for some specific products or services.
Though, Google has not made any announcements so far, the new changes will help sites with great content and more relevancy to the users's searches. And, to make things happen, Google has started working on making its Google-bot smarter so that it shows up only the most-relevant sites and not the sites that have been overly exposed to search engine optimization.
Now, if you have a website with too many keywords on a page, your site stands every chance of facing Google's rage. If you dream to hit the top slots of this widely-used search engine, then, you have to feed your site a balanced diet. Focus more on making your content user-friendly, instead of relying on search engine optimization tips and tricks.
As Google advises the website owners, “Ultimately, your website is for your customers and not for search engines. So, keep your customers in mind, while sprinkling SEO elements on your web pages”. Make your website user-friendly and it stands every chance to appear in SERPs, every time your target customers search online for products or services that your website has to offer. Playing too much around SEO tips and tactics may ruin the reputation of your site.
Now-a-days, most of the site-owners can not ignore Google as over 70 per cent of online searches are done through only Google. And, thus, if you dream to see your site appearing on the top slots of search engines, make sure you play fair and do not resort to unfair means such as stuffing too many keywords and key-phrases on your web pages.
Of course, this should not sound like anti-SEO thing. Search engine optimization has always been an integral part of helping a site move upwards on the ladder of search engine result pages, on desired keywords and key-phrases. However, of late, many agencies have started resorting to 'too much of SEO' to boost a site on search engines, and this has hurt sites with great content and more relevancy. And, thus, Google has now decided to take things into its own hands and resolve the issue at the earliest.
