Gooseberry juice or amla is basically a pale green colored, lime-sized, round fruit that has sour taste. Amla is very rich in vitamin C and it has almost 30 times more vitamin C compared to an orange. This is the reason why it tastes sour however it leaves behind a sweet taste on the palate. Gooseberry Juice Take 3 to 4 amlas and cut them in few pieces and blend it with the help of a blender. It will become a smooth pulp which can then be drunk with some honey. If you don’t have amla available in pure natural form you can go for fresh amla juice available in market. However, always go for the one that is packaged in good quality packing with very little or no preservatives at all. Consuming amla juice half an hour before your breakfast and half an hour after your dinner will increase your body absorption rate and eventually boost your overall health. Moreover, the juice may be added to cocktails for a twist in flavor and to have good health. How to store amla juice If you are using commercially packed gooseberry juice then you should store it in fridge. Once the pack is opened it must be consumed within 2 to 3 days or as given on the packing. If you are using fresh juice made from amla fruit then it is preferred to drink the juice right after you have made its juice. Health Benefits of Gooseberry Juice • Menstrual Cramps – some of the vitamins and minerals present in amla are quite useful for treating the menstrual cramps in women. As it takes a bit of time for amla to accrue in the body, it is a good idea to go for amla on frequent basis. If you cannot consumer amla in natural or juice form, you can always go for amla in candy form. There are a number of amla candy benefits among which the best one is that it can be consumed on the go and whenever you want. • Diabetes – amla comprises of chromium that is a great therapy for diabetic patients. It stimulates the isolated cells that secrete insulin, thus reducing sugar in diabetic patient and help in keeping their body healthy and balanced. Diabetic patient may also go for gooseberry in the form of candy if juice cannot be made. Again the amla candy benefits are unlimited but make sure the amla candy isn’t salted or sweetened. • Heart Disease – gooseberry is good for heart muscles as it strengthens it allowing the blood to flow smoothly throughout the body. It reduces the cholesterol level and cleans the arteries and vessels from any plaque which eventually minimizes heart attacks. The iron present in the amla promotes the red blood cells creation, increasing blood circulation and oxygenation of cells and organs.
