Gratitude

Most people believe that each day is a gift and that we should be grateful for it. How many people actually are grateful for each day I don’t know, but I would guess that it is not as much as it should be. How many people enjoy each day, realize that each day is different and we should be happy every day.

So, if we should be happy and grateful for everyday why aren’t we? I think it has to do with one not living their essence. Most of us believe in some kind of higher power who gives us these days, it could God, the universe or something else and that’s who we should feel Gratitude towards. But, if we are not living our essence how can we enjoy and really be happy every day? How can we feel gratitude?

If people could just sit back and think about their essence but many of them either don’t think about their essence or do nothing about it. So take a few minutes and think about what you would love to do, what stirs your passion. If you can’t think of anything go back and think about when you were a child and your imagination ran wild. Now that you thought of something, focus on it everyday, for now don’t worry about how you are going to change and do something different, focus on what you passion is everyday and do something towards reaching it everyday and believe that you can achieve this and it will happen. It is up to you.

Also, everyday think about how different your days will be when you are living your essence. You wake up in the morning looking forward to the day, this happens everyday. You have tons of energy, you look better, feel better and the world seems like a better place. You live in your dream house, you drive the car that you always wanted to, and if you are married you feel about your spouse the same as when you first realized that you loved them.

Now you enjoy every day and now you realize, more than ever, that each day is a gift and you are taking advantage of each one. Your awareness is at its peak and you notice the colors of the world, the sunsets, the flowers and the different shades of all colors. You now have no regrets and you can now for the first time in your life give gratitude to whoever you believe gives you these days. What a difference this makes to you, to truly feel this way. Now you have the power to make every day a really good day.

I believe it was Mark Twain who said, “There are 2 big days in your life, the day you were born and the day that you found out why”. Finding your essence is that day.
