One of the major questions that most entrepreneurs ask about point of sale software systems is: “What makes this POS better than the other?” It cannot be denied that there are a lot of POS software systems out in the market today which of course, offer the basic functions that a POS should do which are: process a transaction and record them. The edge then lies in the extra great features that a POS software has. One of the POS software systems that stand-out today is the touch point of sale. So, what can a touch point of sale bring that others can’t? Here are some of the great features that are only unique to a touch POS: 1. Touch Screen TechnologyrnThis is the obvious edge that the touch POS has. If you think that have a touch screen technology for your POS is just fluff or just for looks, you are gravely mistaken. The touch screen features allows you to clear-up your counter area and let your personnel focus on just one are of the counter. The touch screen simplifies the way you do your transactions because you personnel’s attention would no longer be divided into the different areas of your counter where there used to be a keyboard, mouse and monitor. Since they only need to focus on the touch screen, it diminishes the steps that one needs to take in order to make a single transaction. 2. User-Friendly InterfacernSince it is touch screen, the touch POS is built with a different interface as compared to normal POS systems that mimic a desktop PC interface. This means that there are no hidden folders in or icons that one needs to find in order to perform a single task. Every widget that represents a program function is placed on the right side of the screen. These widgets or buttons are arranged and made in such a way that it can be easily understood. When your personnel looks for a specific function or program, all they need to do is look at the right side of the screen and touch that user-friendly icon. Once clicked or touched the program opens at the left side of the screen still leaving the all the icons present in the right side. This interface allows your personnel to move from one program to another without having to close the previous program because all the program icons are still on screen. 3. Intelligent SoftwarernSince there are no longer keyboards and mouse needed, the touch POS software is built with intelligent software that can detect when there is a need for a keyboard and numeric keypad. This means that it would show a keyboard or numeric keypad only when there is a need to do so. The mouse of course, is substituted by the touch of the finger. Combining all these great features, you can clearly see that the edge that touch POS brings is more than just its advanced look. It goes beyond by making everything easy and efficient.
