Metals find application in a number of ways in today’s life. Several things are made out of metals. This shows the innovative nature of humans. There has been a discovery of a number of metals today. Each metal possess its own unique characteristics. One such metal which requires attention is titanium. This is a metal which has certain beneficial qualities for which it is used in a number of areas.

Titanium has a weight which is very less and is extremely strong. It has a high resistance to corrosion. Today titanium alloy is used not only in aerospace and aeroplane industries but also in a number of chemical processes, light and petroleum industry, and metallurgy and power generation. To get the benefits of this metal, a titanium distributor can be approached who provide titanium alloys which are highly useful.

The basic disadvantage of a number of metals is that get corroded very easily. But titanium comes with an advantage that it has a high resistance to corrosion. The film that it forms on its surface when in contact with oxygen prevents it from getting corroded easily. There is no change in the stability of titanium in acids, alkalis and other mediums. This property makes it much better as compared to stainless steels and other metals. But it can get dissolved in certain mediums which can cause its corrosion. Today, owing to its properties, titanium is used in a number of chemical industries. It can be used as a condenser or an anticathode at times. The petroleum industry also makes very effective use of titanium. It can be used as a reactor or an exchanger of heat in such industries.

Today medical sciences have developed greatly and it recognises the use of titanium. The use of titanium is evident from the dental implants process which is undertaken by dentists today. In dental implants, surgical processes are used to implant roots which are artificial into the jaws. The objects are made of titanium. Ti 6al4v is an alloy which is used today in dental implants where there is a different percentage of vanadium and titanium. The jaw bones are fixed very well as the titanium alloy is fused well with the jawbone which can never part. The modern times have made great uses of titanium. It is an incredible metal whose benefits accrue to a very great extent. The properties of titanium make it one of the most popular metals as compared to others.
