If you live in a country which has winter, you will know that summer time is always looked forward to! It is the time where you can simply put on just shorts, tank tops and flip flops everywhere you want to go! The only bane about summer is that it comes right after the cold seasons, when it is likely that you may have put on some excess pounds. Thus, if you are feeling a little nervous about putting on your bikini again for summer due to your less than toned body, the following are some tips to help you slim down!

First of all, you should stop taking soda drinks and take plain water as your main daily beverage instead! This may not be an easy substitution for some people as they may not even like drinking plain water. However, there are actually ways to make water 'tastier'! You can actually add lemon or even cucumber into water to make it taste less plain and boring!

Next, you may want to try out different exercise methods. Can you actually see yourself enjoying running on the treadmill at the gym each work out session for years to come? Your answer is probably no. Running has always been boring to me. There are definitely many other types of exercises which are way more fun to perform and equally, if not more, effective! Dancing, tennis, swimming and kick boxing are among the many fun and yet effective exercises to lose weight! If you like the exercise you are performing, you will actually find it easier to have the motivation to work out, and this motivation to work out is important in keeping you disciplined to work until you succeed. Remember that exercise need not be conventional to be effective!

Finally, you should start cooking and eating at home more often instead. Some of the restaurants, including those which claim that they are healthy, actually make use of unhealthy and fatty ingredients to prepare and cook their meals! I am not asking you to never eat out, as that is simply not feasible. I am just recommending you to prepare and cook your meals yourself whenever possible. This way, you will have full control over the ingredients as well as the cooking style!

The above are just some of the many ways in which you can make use of to help you get rid of the excess weight you have gained over the winter!
