Great Places to Buy Property in Singapore
Property prices in Singapore are among the highest in Asia; yet this island country is a favorite among the wealthy Chinese millionaires looking to migrate outside their country. Land is scarce in Singapore and most development projects are aimed at a vertical growth. Thus it isn’t uncommon for old buildings to make for high rise ultra luxurious apartments. Following is a list of properties that are worth a consideration.
- Sentosa Cove: This is the only place in the whole of Singapore where foreigners are allowed to buy landed property, albeit with prior approval of the Land Dealings Unit. Unlike other places, foreigners buying property in Sentosa Cove are not required to hold it for a minimum of three years before reselling it. Needless to say, property prices in Sentosa Cove are way above the rest of the country. In fact, a single property in this place is known to sell for millions of dollars.
- Tanglin: This is a popular expat enclave and is amidst prestigious schools and Clubs including, The Overseas Family School, The American Club, and The Tanglin Club.
- River Valley: The river valley is very close to Orchard Road and the Business District. The place is popular for its many eateries and of course the Robertson Quay- a place very popular among young and trendy Singaporeans. You can choose from the several, middle to high income apartments and condominiums on sale.
- Holland Village: This place is about 10 minutes drive from Orchard Road and is close to the many schools and colleges including The Australian International School, and the United World College. It is also a popular attraction for tourists.
- Woodlands: Although the Woodlands suburb is far from the city, it is popular among expatriates. Marsiling, Admiralty, and Woodgrove are some of the popular neighborhoods in Woodlands.
- Havelock Road: If a scenic view of the city sky line, quite strolls along tree lined promenades is what you like, Havelock Road is the ideal choice. You can choose from the several apartments, condominiums, and penthouses in the area.
- Bukit Timah: Although the place isn’t close to an MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) and local depend on cabs and buses for transport, it is favored by expats, because of the German, French, and Australian School in the area. If low rise condos, is what you are looking for, try the Watten Estate. You can also find condominiums along Coronation Road. Besides schools and clubs, the place also several supermarkets and wet markets.
