Nowadays, with the volume of information available on the most varied subjects, it is possible to be more aware of the impact of our habits and lifestyle to the world. What we eat, what we buy, what we wear, what we read, that is, our way of being in the world has direct consequences on the other human beings and on the planet in which we live. For more informations for health  rnProof of this is in a recent article, published in Food Revolution, which points to a 600% increase in vegans in the United States in the last three years! By 2014, only 1% of Americans had identification with veganism. Already in 2017, this percentage rose to 6%, according to the website Anda. In the most capitalist country in the world, it is clear that the increase in this rate has an impact on the country's consumption. Research has shown that the sale of vegetable milk has increased 61% since 2012, while that of animal milk has been suffering a drop in the market. About 50% of the country's population support the ban on slaughterers, and 70% admit to being sensitized by the way animals are killed for meat consumption. In addition to this symbolic shift and attitude about how people perceive industry, animal exploitation, and animal suffering, vegan diets are gaining more and more space in the fight against obesity and heart disease, two public health problems in the United States. Also in other countries of the world, such changes are being observed. Veganism grows on all sides. One of the examples of the exponential growth of veganism comes from the United Kingdom, a country that by 2016 already had 1% of its vegan population (it seems little but the number is 3 times higher than 10 years ago) and, current data point to the impression figure of 8% of the British vegan population. The same number, 8%, also represents the number of Australian vegans. In Italy, in the last 5 years, the number of vegans was between 6 and 8% of the population. This has an impact on the entire international market, and China is already eyeing this lifestyle change, so much so that the country should increase its production of vegans by 17% by 2020. Why did people see vegans?rnThe option for veganism is a choice that results from concern for health, the environment and the lives of animals. In general, vegans question a whole chain of consumption that is not just about food. They question, for example, how hygiene and cleaning products, and also garments are produced, what materials are used and what the network is involved. Incidentally, GreenMe made a story about it, which can be checked here.  rnVegans are helping to spread an awareness of value to life in any form, not just the human. Therefore, many products have been developed in order to meet this new worldview, without the need to explore the animals. It is not only the slaughterhouses that animals suffer. Many industries are testing animals for pain. If you can buy a brand of lipstick or shampoo that reportedly does not do tests on animals, why continue to consume products from brands that do not care about environmental issues, if the price is the same and sometimes even lower? In the information age, it is easy for anyone to discover which ideology guides business. Of course, they all want profit, but it can be generated in different ways. If we demand products in line with the values in which we believe and fail to buy those from companies that perform work analogous to slavery or that cause pain to animals, more transparency must be given to the production chain. According to data from the latest research, this way of being in the world - more engaged and conscious - only tends to increase. Still good!
