Guilin, china, a Piece of Heaven on Earth

After residing in China for the past twelve years, I had the opportunity to explore the exotic city of Guilin. Actually, it was my second visit to the city. However, during my first visit, I had no time to enjoy its magical scenery.

During my recent visit, I was accompanied by Chinese wife, which facilitated our movements since my Chinese leaves a lot to be desired. This time, we opted to take the fast train to go to Guilin to permit us the chance to rejoice in the beautiful scenes of the road to our destination.

As we arrived to the city, to show their generosity of spirit, the management of the hotel that we previously booked, sent a car to pick us up from the train station. Through our trip to the hotel, we noticed that the city has its own charm. Fortunately for us, the weather was mild with a drizzling rain.

After Checking in, we took a stroll downtown to familiarize ourselves with the shopping centre of the city. Needless to say, the shopping departments offered various discounts on most items displayed at their sections, in an attempt to attract their customers. By the way, my Chinese wife loves shopping which is an utterly agonizing experience for me bearing in mind that most men, including myself, despise the experience.

In the evening, we took a boat trip through the Mulong Lake that lasted 90 minutes. Without stating the obvious, we immensely enjoyed the experience especially the mesmerizing scenery along the sides and surroundings of the lake.

Through the journey, we watched various types of Chinese dances performing by elegantly dressed young ladies.
Being old deprived me from enjoying the exhilarating experience of visiting Yang’Shuo. However, I had the opportunity during my first to see it. My wife couldn't stop praising the magic of the place especially exotically surrounding mountains and its water falls.

If you are fond of eating sumptuous yet delicious food, you would love the variety of dishes that are offered at the numerous dining establishments in Guilin.

During the span of my life, I had the opportunity to visit and explore various cities worldwide, including several Chinese cities such as Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Rizhao and Qinqdao. However, none captivated my heart as Guilin did.

If you have the chance to visit, you should seize the opportunity to explore the city of Guilin and its exotic location. You will probably enjoy the experience. I strongly recommend it as a tourist destination.
