There are many types of alopecia, and even if you say "hair loss", there are various causes and symptoms. If the cause is different, the treatment will be different and the course of recovery will be different. In this Q&A, I would like to explain the main alopecia as easily as possible so that everyone can understand it correctly. However, in order to understand the condition of hair loss, first of all, it is important to know the mechanism of normal healthy hair and how it grows and changes,i.e. proper Hair Fall Treatment so let's start from there. think. I will mainly talk about hair. What is the difference in quality and strength of hair depending on age and individual? There are about 100,000 hairs, and in India, if you do not cut your hair, it will be 1 to 1.5m long. As for the thickness of hair, in children, there are many thin hairs that grow from puberty, and after adolescents, the proportion of thin and short hairs increases with age. So it's natural for 40, 50, and 60 years to look like they've lost more hair than when they were 20 years old. However, there are individual and racial differences even at the same age. These differences are due to heredity, and healthy people are not affected by food. rnThe hair follicles that extend the hair reach the depth of subcutaneous fat on the scalp. Hair mother cells in the deep part of the hair follicle divide to give hair cells. By the time these cells emerge from the pores on the skin's surface, they turn into hard, tough hair. Long hair grows when the condition of head hair continues for 2 to 6 years, and this period is called the hair growth period. The normal hair growth rate is about 0.4 mm per day. What is "hair loss"? Actually, "hair loss" is a very vague term. In other words, most of the time, it is "a condition in which hair is missing and the number of hairs is decreasing" (hair loss), but the condition in which it is not is also called "hair loss". A typical example is "male pattern baldness", in which the number of hairs does not decrease, but from a certain time thick and long hairs do not regenerate and most of the hairs are replaced by thin and short hairs (soft hairs) ( (Softening) will occur. Although it is not missing, the amount of visible hair is reduced, so it is included in "alopecia". Another example is that, very rarely, the hair is well made, but the quality of the hair is weak and it is so easy to cut that it doesn't last long. It is a condition that can be seen due to various hair malformation diseases. rnAlopecia areata is a typical example of alopecia areata, in which hair loss occurs, and the number decreases, and there are various other types as shown in. All have different causes, so of course, treatment and treatment for hair loss also differ. Types of alopecia Hair lossrnAlopecia areata, trichotillomania, telogen hair loss, hair loss due to endocrine disorders, hair loss due to nutritional disorders, hair loss due to skin infections, hair loss due to skin tumors, scarring hair loss, hair loss due to chemical agents, etc. Due to softening: Male pattern baldness rnDue to brittleness of hair: Various hair malformations What is the cause of baldness in male pattern baldness? With androgenetic alopecia, men after puberty have thin hair from the early 20s. Especially the hair from the top of the head to the frontal area becomes soft hair. This is the so-called wakare state. Although it progresses with age, male pattern baldness occurs in about one in three adult Japanese men. At this time, there are certain hair follicles in the growth phase in the skin, but the growth phase becomes shorter, and the hair follicles become smaller than the large ones as before. After that, it remains small follicles even after repeated hair cycle. rnThe blue arrow is the hair cycle of the hair follicle that makes thick and long hair, but when androgenetic alopecia begins, it is in the catagen before the growing hair follicle grows sufficiently large, and after that, like the red arrow. The hair cycle of miniaturized hair follicles becomes more and more hair follicles stop in the resting period. rnThis miniaturization of hair follicles is due to the action of androgens (male hormones) that increase in the body during puberty. When androgen acts, the opposite phenomenon occurs: the hair on the head becomes thin (softening), and the beard, chest hair, etc. become thicker (hardening). Both of these are actions related to the type II 5α-reductase and androgen receptor possessed by hair papilla cells of the hair follicle. The reason why the opposite phenomenon occurs with the same hair is thought to be the difference in signals sent by dermal papilla cells. However, not everyone becomes juvenile, but genetic predisposition greatly influences. Female alopecia can also occur in women, which is noticeable after menopause. Recently, female pattern baldness has come to be called, but unlike males, it is kept in the hairline and the hair becomes thin at the center of the crown.
