There’s no single individual out there who at one point in their lives hasn’t used a portable storage apparatus. The fact is that everybody these days is utilizing portable data storage devices to transport large amounts of data. You may know a comrade who uses portable hard-drives to store his media files, or your neighbor who often lets you borrow his USB flash drive. The point is that USB storage devices are now regularly used around the world, for the reason they are a popular means of transporting data between computers. Portable storage devices can store any type of data, with any type of file extension. Moreover, USB flash drives are convenient to carry around which are considered the smallest type of portable storage device that can be plugged into a USB slot. However, storing so much information in a pen drive does more bad than good. Why so you may be wondering? Well, first of all, such portable devices are prone to get lost due to their small size. To further add, it’s most likely that you had stored some personal information related to your identity, such as PDF tax returns or copies of identity documents, for instance driver’s license copies, passport copies and other related credentials. Consequently, such clandestine information can with no trouble end up in the hands of a transgressor. So what can you do to obviate such information from ending up in the wrongs hands? First, don’t trust anyone with your portable USB storage devices; this also includes your buddies, colleagues and relatives. Hide your portable drive and don’t tell anyone where you kept it, consider your flash drive a personal gadget which should not be borrowed by anyone. Second, avoid storing sensitive information on your USB device because such information can lead to data leaks and identity theft. Finally, install portable data security software such as USB Secure to make certain that if you do end up losing your portable data storage gizmo, at least you can be assured that your private data will be password protected.rnIgnoring these facts can easily put you in the following sequence of make-believe events: your computer has been running quite sluggish lately, naturally, you decide to give it a good old fashion reformatting to sort out all the bugs. Before you do so, you decide to back-up your private data onto a portable hard drive, because your hard-drive will be wiped clean during the reformatting process. After re-formatting, your computer’s performance is good as new. Next week your cousin shows up at your place and asks to borrow your portable hard-drive, he being your cousin, you can’t say no to him, so you go ahead and let him borrow your portable drive, without giving the privacy of your files a second thought. On his way home, your cousin ends up losing your portable hard-drive. He calls you up to apologize for the loss, but before your temper could flare up, he tells you that he has bought a new one for you to cover your loss. Your nerves calm down and you are happy to get a new portable hard-drive. Few months later you receive a call from a credit card company demanding payment of $10,000 that was overdue. After investigating, it becomes apparent that someone had stolen your id using information from your lost portable hard drive.rnFor more information please visit rnhttp://www.newsoftwares.net/usb-secure/
