Today is Valentines Day and we think about sending cards or giving chocolates to the ones we love. But what about the other 364 days of the year?

Once a year we think about the one we love. We go out and spend money and give gifts and take our beloved to dinner. And that is all well and good, but what about spreading that love over the other 364 days of the year.

Something to Ponder

God lives in our heart, and if there is God in every heart then how are we to treat all the people we meet? And how are we to treat our beloved every single day of the year? Many times we get so caught up in the day to day details of life and making money that we forget about love. But love is the most important aspect of being human.

What Does It Take to Be Loving and Kind?

And if we think about what it takes to be loving and kind every single day… in reality, it’s really not much at all.

Perhaps it’s just washing the dishes when no one has asked. Or perhaps doing some errands for your spouse without grumbling.

Perhaps it’s doing all the little things around the house that need to be done without making a face or trying to get out of doing the chores.

Or perhaps it’s just listening more and talking less and allowing the other person to have their own point of view and accepting them for who they are.

How Can We Learn to Be Loving Every day?

Many people wonder how they can be loving and kind every day? And the answer is easy. Just stop for a moment and listen to what the still small voice within is saying… our voice of the Divine is always with us. The Divine within will always answer… for the Divine lives in our heart. The only thing we have to do is learn to listen.

How to Listen to the Still Small Voice

Many people have shut down their still small voice. They don’t want to listen to that voice… because then they would have to do what they know is best. And many times that’s the opposite of what the ego wants. Our ego is always saying “ME, ME, ME” while the Divine is saying “WE, WE, WE” and thinks about everyone.

To hear the Divine just stop for a moment, close your eyes, and feel. Feel and listen, and soon your voice will begin to speak. Take note of what your voice is saying… this is vitally important for your growth and well being as a person moving towards enlightenment.
