Harnessing The Creative Force of Your People Embracing the Opportunities of Today’s Difficult Climate.
Almost every newspaper, radio and television programme, which offer news and current affairs, are talking gloom and doom. Many experts say we are talking ourselves into a recession. Yet it is in these most turbulent periods of history when some of the greatest opportunities are offered and fortunes made.
Our mindset and attitude to life are what make the difference between a person/team or company having their heads down focussing on the lack, difficulties and despair.
I’m not saying that there are not challenges – there are; but by looking up and out having the attitude times are changing. What do I/we/the team need to do, to not only survive, but to do well? What needs to be done differently to get the best out of our situation? How can we, as a team, harness the creative talent of the people here, what opportunities are there in the market?
There is no doubt, that it is the quality of leadership which makes a fundamental difference. Having a clear vision, a ‘can do’ culture and steady nerves, so staff have confidence is a fantastic platform from which to fight any economic dragons.
Many leaders and managers go into a ‘baton down the hatches’ style of leadership. In doing so, their style changes and in doing so there is the potential that you begin to rely solely on one person, or a very small team at the top. Precitives are sent down on high and there is little opportunity.
