Have Surprise Snacks at Your Next Banquet or Reception

At your wedding reception or next formal banquet you are planning, consider what you can do differently when it comes to the food presentation and typical sit-down-meal. Nowadays there are many new things being done and people are more open to enjoying your creativity and going with the flow when it comes to this, so don’t be afraid to try something new. The guests are all going to remember the food that you served them at your meal so be sure it tastes great. Next show them that you were willing to have some fun with it. 1) Food Stations around the room If the space you are holding your banquet at has enough room for guests to walk around and not just be seated at their table or using then dance floor, then make the most of that space. Plan on having each course of the meal, from appetizers to dessert, served at stations all around the room. Work with the banquet facility’s planner on how they will be staffed with servers and the best placement around the room. Then consider what each station with be serving and go for a lot of variety. This will please the guests the most if they feel like they really were able to customize their meal and get exactly what they want. If you are really big on options and the banquet hall has an extensive menu, then consider making each station its own theme. One can serve Italian, another All-American and so on. 2) Surprise your guests with snacks. If your wedding is going to have people dancing long into the night, then you better be prepared for everyone to get hungry again. Now this doesn’t mean that you need to have an entire second meal planned, but being able to give your guests a fun snack at midnight will keep them staying longer and shows that you didn’t stop planning once the bouquet toss was over. These late night snacks should be more creative and less formal than what was served earlier. This is also a good place to let the groom give his opinion on what should be served. If the groom loves hot dogs and French fries, have the servers come out with trays of mini-hot dogs and small packs of French fries. This can be an area of your banquet that you just have a little fun and surprise the guests.
