Have you explored the pristine city of Melbourne?

As a person who loves to travel, itineraries excite me the most. I remember the time I travelled to Melbourne, the itinerary for the last day of my trip was intentionally left blank, because I love to surprise myself. To my happiness, or say, let’s call it luck, I found a classy brochure lying around in my hotel room which introduced me to Melbourne Sightseeing Cruise. 9 hours of luxury cruising across the Tidal River with a delicious buffet for lunch, Wilsons Prom Cruise was my best pick. There was one more cruise service called Phillip Island Cruise that takes you on short 2-hour trips, mainly meant for animal lovers and introduces the species on the island. Cool, I know! An easy reach from Melbourne, the Wilsons Promontory National Park was, I believe, the right place for me at the right time. Cruising along the serene waters of Tidal River, I bet even my camera was awestruck at the sheer beauty of the towering rock formations, the pristine beaches and unparalleled panoramic views of the temperate rainforests. A few hours into the trip, we anchored the boat at Refuge Cove for those who would like to swim or explore the inventory at the remote cove. Although the hydrophile in me ideally wanted to jump into the water right away, I headed straight to the store to get a scoop of ice cream and took a walk up the hill to get a bird’s-eye-like view of the surrounds. After spending a few playful hours here, we were back on board and the vessel drifted towards Prom lighthouse. I was silently soaking in the immensity of this visual treat as one of the crew members interfered and told me we were headed towards one of the most attractive places at Wilsons Prom: Mount Oberon. These gigantic, prehistoric boulders that overlook the turquoise waters were effortlessly picturesque and I’m pretty sure I have over 50 clicks of the same view on my cam. The Skull Rock, for one, fascinated me the most with its eerie resemblance to the human skull. This majestic granite monolith nestled behind the white quartz sands of Norman Beach is nature’s work of art, its beauty enhanced by the crystal blue waters lashing against it. To witness the immaculate yet rugged beauty of nature, untouched by humans, I then realised how far mankind has travelled from Mother Nature. Coddled by the cool sea breeze tinted with warm golden sun, I now cherish the sweetest memories of being on the Melbourne Sightseeing Cruise. The tour guide on Wilsons Prom Cruise was a friendly chap whose informative commentaries about the place, as I recollect, was more than what any sources on Google would tell you. He told us about the abundant species of flora and fauna—both above and below the waters—educating us about their natural habitats and seasonal behaviour. Visiting the Kanowa Island which preserves a seal colony was another kickass experience for me. Did you know that seals spend most of their time in water but they give birth to young ones and take care of them on the shores? Amphibian lords! I even made friends with some of the dolphins and sea birds there! (or so I’d believe). I think it’s time I go back in there again and get on board one of those Phillip Island Cruises ‘cause I need to meet ‘em friends! for more info: https://www.australiancruisegroup.com.au/melbourne/sightseeing-cruises https://www.australiancruisegroup.com.au/melbourne/sightseeing-cruises/wilsons-prom-cruise
