There have been lots of studies showing that meditation can heal ADD and ADHD and thus make a powerful change in the lives of lots of men, women, and children who are suffering from this challenge.

The University of Califo
ia did a study with children showing that teaching children meditation who had ADD created marked improvements in cognitive function, attention span, and a decrease in anxiety and depression.

A study at Duke University showed that people with ADHD who were taught meditation had a huge difference in their symptoms. On a scale of 0 to 7 all the participants rated the process a positive 5.91 and decided they would keep using meditation in their daily lives from that point on.

The editor of the Huffington Post is a person who practices meditation every day and says it’s one of the most important aspects of her life which has made her successful. Oprah Winfrey is a long time meditator who teaches meditation programs because she feels meditation is important for everyone.

A study done with John Hopkins and Pen State University found that teens in 4th and 5th grade who took a 12 week program in meditation had less anxiety, had less emotional outbursts, and were better able to handle the stress of daily life.

A Harvard study showed that those who learned meditation had less anxiety and stress, with a greater capacity for learning and compassion, and they had better memory recall. And another study in the journal of Nutrition Education & Behavior showed that those who ate meals mindfully on the average ate 300 less calories a day. Another study in AAP journal showed that teaching young people to meditate showed less physiological challenges, less social problems, and much less behavioral problems thus making meditation an important way to heal mental challenges.

In another study in the International journal of psychophysiology showed that Vipassana meditation reduced emotional and cognitive reactivity thus helping with stress and helping individuals to focus. And in the journal of Child and Family Studies it was found that children who where taught meditation had less ADHD challenges.

Dr. Grosswald a specialist in meditation and ADHD talked about the fact that meditation heals the whole brain not just particular portions of the brain. Thus there is more connections taking place in the brain and more communication between lobes of the brain. Plus all the areas of the brain associated with anxiety, emotions, cognitive function, and the ability to focus all had major changes taking place. The whole person is changing with meditation not just one area.

Plus with meditation there are no negative side effects like we have with medications.

Perhaps it’s Time to Switch from Medication to Meditation.

Learn Vipassana or TM Meditation and Heal Your Life.

Many Blessings to Everyone!
