We already know about the problem: too many people are unhealthy - some are obese, some are diabetes or hypertension, some are just not involved in sports. And the trick is that people do not necessarily want to become healthy. Often, they do and will try different nutrition plans or exercises. The problem is that these decisions are not followed, and people ultimately feel disappointed and lonely.

Unhealthy people want lasting change, corporations want healthy workers, and healthcare providers want patients to receive and stay healthy. Likewise, fitness professionals want customers to succeed in making changes in the long run.

So, what is the answer to the problem?

It can be a training of health and well-being. Some experts in the fitness industry believe that this developing area will help unhealthy people move from the desire to do something to real fulfillment. Health and wellness certification emphasize three skills - in behavioral, nutritional, and physical fitness - that can holistically cure those struggling with poor health. Why do experts believe that coaching in the field of health can help, and how does it treat you as a professional or beginner fitness? Health and expert trainers share their views.

What is health and wellness coaching?

A health trainer is not a personal trainer, consultant, or nutritionist.

“One of the game-changing aspects of health training is the real emphasis on listening to and learning from the client,” explains Cedric H. Bryant, Ph.D., FACSM, chief fellow at the American Exercise Council, based in Redmond, Washington. “A shift in emphasis from“I’m a problem-solving expert ”to“ Let's go on a journey together to help you change your life. ”

Some experts, believes that wellness coaching is an important new profession. “With regard to this specialization, it provides critical behavioral change services that were still lacking for sports, nutrition, patient care, and other healthcare areas,” he says. “Coaching includes support strategies., Services that depend on behavioral changes to achieve positive results.”

Fitness pros as health trainers

With knowledge of exercise and proven ability to work with clients, fitness professionals, especially personal trainers, are ideal for becoming health trainers. We know that people need health trainers to help with behavior change, but why do you want to become a health trainer?

This may provide new opportunities. “Health and wellness training are a natural career for trainers aged 45 and over,” says Moore. “It's less physical activity, and coaches of this age are great as coaches. Most clients of medical trainers are over 40. It’s more difficult for a young person to navigate the complexity of life of mature clients.”

Moore says fitness professionals who become health trainers can get jobs in places like corporate health, clinical settings, community facilities, spas and health clubs. Or they can go to private practice.

But what about the payment? “Compensation levels for spencerinstitute certified trainers tend to match the levels of experienced personal trainers,” says Bryant, so trainers can diversify their activities without losing revenue.
