Children are the future of our nation. Maternal and child healthcare services are the foremost priorities of community health programs. According to the World Health Organisation, maternal and child health services are id “promoting, preventing, therapeutic or rehabilitation facility or just call it “Healthcare for the mother and child”.

AN OVERVIEW OF “MOTHER AND CHILD HEALTH IN THE WORLD”-
In 2015, approximately 300,000 women worldwide died due to maternal problems. Almost all the deaths occurred in low and middle-income countries, with nearly two thirds (67%) occurring in the African Region. What could be the reason---‘Lack of health education’.
Well, with this kind of statistics, it becomes the responsibility of every individual and the community, to make sure that the mothers and their children get the primary health education.

Empowering our Future Generation- Empowerment begins with education. It helps an individual to earn a livelihood, increases one’s awareness on issues such as healthcare, appropriate social behaviour and understanding of one’s rights, and in the process-evolve as a better citizen.
Commitment to providing education and healthcare to the underprivileged mothers and children is the beginning of a stable future. Whether you are rectifying issues with healthcare, poverty, population control or unemployment, there is no other place to start than in the corridors of education.

India’s interventions in the healthcare sector work to improve access to quality health services for the poor and marginalised communities. By identifying the root causes of healthcare issues, we can work -- at the level of an individual or the community, to develop innovative solutions and help implement education and high-quality healthcare services. Working with groups, collaborative work with government and civil society include methods to improve the Health Education and Nutritional status of the poorest and excluded groups, especially women and children.
The various areas of healthcare system delivery include enhancing the range for maternal and reproductive health, child health and nutrition, and early identification and treatment of infectious diseases such as Tuberculosis, Diarrhoea and HIV. The objective of healthcare interventions is to boost and promote extensive healthcare and create a positive and enabling environment for quality healthcare services.
Here is an ‘NGO’ called ‘EKAM Foundation’ that works towards educating the deprived children and mothers. EKAM works towards providing quality healthcare to needy children and mothers in India. The foundation started on the fundamental premise that no child should be denied the right to healthcare. Emphasis is given on girl education and women education so that they and their families get empowered.
So! Let’s connect with EKAM to build a healthier tomorrow. Log on to www.ekamoneness.org to learn more on how EKAM can help.
