The two main camps when it comes to healthy diets for weight loss appear to be low carb or low fat. Now both can be effective if followed correctly however I feel works best for most people is the low carb approach. Just to clarify when I talk about low carb diets do not mean the Atkins diet because I personally do not think this special diet healthy. Nor am I against certain carbohydrates and think that carbohydrates play an important role in the health and vitality.

No reason to think that low carb is the best option is when you're on a diet low in fat its still consume too many processed refined carbohydrates such as pasta, bagels, breads, cereals, rice, biscuits, soft drinks, juices , candy, crackers, etc. It is this kind of food that I think are the main culprits for why so many people gain weight and struggle to lose it later.

It is very difficult to avoid processed carbohydrates, even when trying to be healthy, because through clever marketing a large amount of food that we think are good are in reality full of refined flour and other additives. The consumption of these is going to peak blood sugar and create a surge of insulin to stimulate the direct body fat storage and actually increases the appetite for wanting more.

Apart from years of excess weight gain from eating processed carbs can make your body more resistant to insulin and no surprise that we are now seeing more and more type 2 diabetes occur in many people to age getting younger

Anyway, from my own experience I would recommend that people who struggle to lose weight will benefit most from

1. The overall reduction in cereal-based foods in your diet (pasta, cereal, crackers, rice, etc)

2. Get most of your carbohydrates from vegetables, whole fruits, berries and nuts.

3. If you must eat grain foods go for those bran and germ of the label as they are the most nutritious and fiber cereals. This includes foods such as oat bran, wheat germ and rice bran.

It's easier to stay on track with a low carb plan.

My body composition was much better when limited carbohydrates. Unlike when I was in a low-fat diet when I was always focusing on the content of fat in each meal all I knew I had to do was take away from starchy carbohydrates and replace food with extra vegetables and sources healthy fat such as avocado, guacamole, nuts, seeds. I also discovered that my appetite was not so high that was, of course, reduce the calories you eat without thinking about it.

Now my meals are mostly primary

Primal meals consist of plenty of protein and good fats and less carbohydrates, and this is what I like about meals during the week. However, I am on the weekend sometimes weaken enjoy more high-fat meals high in carbohydrates. I think this is because I am more relaxed and with friends so it is more temptation. However, being disciplined in the weeks and days of intermittent fasting as I am able to enjoy these delicacies and remain poor.

There are times when I'm low in carbohydrates and low in fat.

When you need to lose body fat quickly say for a holiday or after-party should be restricted calories from carbohydrates and healthy fats. This means that only proteins such as cleaning chicken breasts and plenty of vegetables at each meal for a couple of weeks, which generally tends to work.

As with all healthy diets to lose weight the best is what works for you. Just think of the options available for everyone this approach is the most healthy and effective.
