“When Susan Boyle sang… the world stood still..”
Like an angel plucking the string of a harp, her song struck a heart chord that could be felt around the world. When Susan Boyle sang on the stage of Britain’s Got Talent, the world stood still. Young and old, successful or struggling, popular or outcast, happy or sad. We were all covered in the same blanket of hope, love, and joy. We all heard the same heart song. With one breath, our potential was unleashed, our perceptions were destroyed, and a new net of dreams were cast over us.
We acknowledged our own faults. How many of us were surprised? How many of us had categorized her already? How many of us were willing to laugh at her for stating her dream? Luckily Susan’s powerful voice quieted our own small voices of doubt, fear, and judgment. Our hearts began to sing a new song. A heart song full of self-belief, sincerity, humility, courage, and acceptance of others.
In one heart bursting moment we embraced Susan and all she stood for. The mood of the audience shifted from judgment to support. A reminder that a crowd can make or break an individual.
It made me think of how the 11 year old boy that recently committed suicide must have felt after being teased and bullied by his peers at school. How difficult for him to face the energy of the crowd as they ripped his self-esteem to pieces. How different today would be if they had embraced him for whom he was. How beautiful his heart song was if only they had listened.nn Susan Boyle is the voice of so many that have been ostracized, tormented, and judged. She teaches us to respect each others differences, and nurture and support each others dreams. Thank you Susan for being the voice of so many that have learned to be quiet. Thank you, for giving all of us a heart song.

When we hear âself-care,â our minds often jump straight to bubble baths, sheet masks, or a quiet night in with herbal tea. But real self-care is something we should implement every single day â and it starts with the spaces we spend the most time in: our homes. Why? Because your home sets the tone for your mood. If itâs cluttered, dark, or chaotic, chances are you will feel the same. The good news is, with a few small changes, you can turn your everyday spaces into a

Life Is Meant For Joy
With bills to pay, rent to cover, kids to corral, too much to do in too little time, especially with the Holidays upon us and all the extra stuff that needs tending, doing, paying for? Joy? Give it a rest. Well, I would, except joy is our basic nature. It’s what everything else we do is aiming for. Yes, money is nice, but why? For the joy it brings us in the form of comfort and/or giving to others. Success is grand, but why? For the joy of accomplishment, of expressing ourse
