We have all heard stories about mysterious angels who have appeared in times of crisis, helping humanity with support or constructive messages. According to a recent Washington Post article, which cited a 2008 survey by Baylor University's Institute for Studies of Religion, over half of Americans believe in heavenly angels, including one in five of those who say they are not religious. Are there such cherubim? Where do they come from? What is their purpose? Most of us, at one time or another, have thought that we were all alone. However, is this really the case? If you are separate from everything, then you can be alone. A good example is someone locked in a room by themselves; disconnected from everything else. However, if you were separate and alone, how would an angelic being be able to get a message to you? The Church and other structured religions have taught many that God encompasses everything. If that is so, you and angels must also be included, for encompass would, by definition, mean to include everything possible. To be included suggests we cannot be separate. Using scientific steps, you look at everything, and therefore, you look at the whole. From the above evidence, could you consider that you, as part of everything, are part of the whole, and not separate? If that is so, you cannot be alone. Furthermore, if you are part of the whole, you have access to everything and everything has access to you. Under these circumstances, it is possible that an angel could make contact with you. What is the definition and purpose of an angel? The word 'angel' is derived from the Greek word 'angelus,' meaning messenger. Webster's dictionary also describes an angel as a heavenly messenger in addition to 'a spirit who conveys God's will to man,' 'a guardian spirit,' or a 'lovable person.' From my personal experience, God sent various angels to me throughout my life. During my most difficult trials, and when I was at the breaking point, an angel came to my aid. Each time I encountered an angel; the angel either gave a constructive message, or protected me from some failure. In this way, I was guided to a path that was more beneficial. Would you consider from Webster's definition that there are not only invisible angels, but visible ones, in the form of lovable persons, as well? Could it be that you are an angel? Could this statement apply to others? Are you revealing the angel within each time you demonstrate love? Consider the following:
  • Have you heard stories about people who mysteriously appear and help others, never to be seen or heard from again?
  • Have you ever been distressed and in need of help, then almost miraculously, someone from out of the blue gave you assistance and/or comfort by contacting you?
  • Have you encountered stories of complete strangers coming to someone else's rescue?
  • Do you have family or friends who have given you constructive guidance that allowed you to become happier?
Yes, people can be angels, but they do not know it. These 'angels' all have one quality; they lift others up. Could this be one reason so many people picture angels with wings? Therefore, there are angels among you; some choose to be seen, others do not. Not only do angels lift you up, but also they can indirectly set you on the path to healing and happiness. They lead you towards a more constructive path, by guiding you to embody the attributes of love, compassion, understanding, honor, honesty and humility. So, the next time a loving, kind soul gives you happiness or helps you in some manner, consider an angel may have just come your way. Copyright Statement: This article was written by Cindy L.
