Have you ever closely observed how a tree grows? rnInitially, it is only a seed; which after taking sunshine and water, grows into a sapling; and as it slowly spreads its roots when nurtured with manure, it stands up as a tender plant blooming with flowers; and finally develops into a tree yielding big, juicy fruits to satisfy the need of ours. The tree takes from Mother Nature what it needs to grow, and then gives back to Nature whatever it grows. rnThe tree selflessly serves its fruits, flowers, leaves, wood, shade and everything it has, in the service of mankind, for the benefit of all living creatures in this world, without any selfish interest of its own. It serves even to those who throw a stick at it or hits an axe into it. And at the end of its life, it evolves into a better life form. If each one of us had this selfless obliging nature to Help Others, like that of a tree, then how beautiful, this world would be! An intent to Help othersrnMost of us think that we should preserve what we have with us, or else we will end up having nothing for our self in future. Just imagine what would happen if trees too would think likewise and start preserving their fruits and flowers, not giving them to anyone? Amidst different passions in life, we all have a common need among us - we all want happiness. According to Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan, “the one who wants happiness should make others happy, and the one who wants misery, should make others miserable.” So if I want happiness in my life, I should make others happy. Just like a tree, even if we have to suffer at times, let us always maintain the intent to give happiness to others. Whatever we have to suffer is a result of our past account that is being settled presently. Whereas, this intent to give happiness to others is like a seed of a tree, that will bear good fruits of helping others in future. If you heartily comfort someone, you will definitely be rewarded in return. This is the law of karma. This Nature’s law states that when one helps others without having any selfish interest of his own, all his worldly necessities get automatically taken care of in return. Hence helping others, without being calculative or conditional, and remaining free from interference and restlessness, makes our life smooth and obstacle-free over time. Many of us may think that to help others means to donate big amount of money, and we may not even have that kind of money, as of today. Having a pure intent of helping others will bring its fruits as actions in the next life. So do not worry, just keep harnessing the pure intent to help. rnWhen we ask ourselves, ‘the problems that the other person is facing, what if they were faced by me?’; and it generates compassion and empathy within us, for all the people in the world who are facing such problems, the intent to help others in whatever way we can, naturally arises. True meaning in lifernGod resides in every living being. Therefore, helping others, without expecting anything in return, is the highest form of service. This makes our life deeply meaningful in its true meaning, as it fills us with content within and uplifts us in our spiritual journey too. Thus, our genuine intent to help others yields not only worldly happiness, but also eternal happiness!! Helping others is not only the most worthwhile way to find meaning in this life, but it also gives meaning to our next life because as per the law of Nature, those who deprive others of happiness get birth in the animal form in the next life, those who help others and give people happiness are born as human-beings, whereas those who even give away their own happiness to help others are superhuman and get born as celestial beings… Please visit https://www.dadabhagwan.org/path-to-happiness/humanity/help-others-the-purpose-of-life/

According to the spiritual science of Akram Vignan, the meaning of ‘selfless’ is to live one’s life for the sole purpose of serving others, by whatever means one can and according to one’s skill set and ability; and to do so without expecting anything whatsoever in return. Param Pujya Dadashri, the founder of Akram Vignan, makes us understand how every living being’s life should be, through an illustration of the tree: “Do any of the fruit trees eat their own frui

Worrying that your money will be used up cannot preoccupy you. Whatever money is spent is fine. The spending of money is encouraged because it destroys your greed and allows you to keep giving. Upyoga is awareness. When you do something auspicious or give to charity, give with the awareness and intent that others will benefit from your donation. Give anonymously in order to avoid fame. That is called giving with awareness! That is called upyoga. There are some people who refu
